What side effects have you had with the drug wellbutrin XL?

I've been on this medication for about a month now. Everyday I see flashing lights and get bad headaches. Got my eyes checked and they are fine. Anyone else have this problem? Wellbutrin works excellent for me and I don't want to stop taking it because I have major depressive disorder and nothing else works like this. Will this go away after time? I talked to my doctor and he said it's a maybe.Note: I am also taking the generic version.



Wellbutrin XL and flashing lights?

I was taking Wellburtin XL but switched to generic to save money. I had a few headaches on the regular brand but I just switched to generic about three weeks ago and I get these terrible headaches right above my eyebrows that last a couple of hours and won't go away with pain medications. I used to get nauseated in the morning about an hour after taking the meds. then in the afternoon the headache would come. Now, I've been getting the headache at all times of the day. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do?



Is anyone taking generic Wellbutrin (150) XL and had headaches?

The first week I felt calmer, a little anxious and shaky but overall mood wise,pretty good. I also had a decrease in appetite and loss 9lbs within about 8 days.Is there side effects that would cause teeth clinching or grinding, I find myself having very tight muscles in my jaws and it is causing me headaches. I am also experiencing a little tremor in my right hand and arm, some right shoulder pain. I've been on now 14 days today, I woke up headache, and started throwing up for 2-3 hours this morning at work, muscle pain was pretty bad in arm. Has anyone experienced this side effect and does it go away after a few weeks? I was taking Effexor xl and it worked well, but put on 50 pounds with it. This is new for me, and a little disturbing, but if it goes away, I can hang in there.



I just started Wellbutrin xl 2 weeks ago, I think I'm having side effects?

I was taking Well butrin XL 300 mg once daily for 3 years. During that time I noticed myself having no patience when it came to my children , husband & job. I was more angry seemed like daily, violent, also became very verbal and loud everything seemed to bother me or just make me mad. I seriously thought I was going crazy or even had another type of chemical imbalance. I suddenly started having horrible headaches, miagraines and it started about an hour or so after I took my Wellbutrin, I consulted my Dr. on several occasions regarding my moods and headaches, Never changed my meds. I even went to my Ob / Gyn thinking I was going through early menapause or thinking it had something to do with my monthly on my moods. I finally sat down with my husband and told him I was going to quit taking the Wellbutrin cold turkey and just stop. That was two months ago. I have never felt better in my life. No more feeling like a monster. My question. Has anyone felt this way while on this medication

After wellbutrin xl for years, I switched to Cymbalta in hopesit would WORK. 1st two weeks of 30mg now almost 3 weeksof 60mg a day. I feel real tired at times and depressed.I think it is helping, sometimes. But the last 3 days I get thisbad headache almost like when you get a cold. Sinus pressure & headache. What have you experienced? And howlong did side affects last, and for the drug to Help you? If it did?Thanks, much



Anyone taking " CYMBALTA" ?

I am on my second week and I think I am eating more. I thought it was supposed to suppress the appetite and I took it a few years ago and remember losing weight. I am at a regular weight right now and don't want to gain. I normally do not eat very much except during PMS, which is right now. Could that explain why I'm eating so much. I thought the Wellbutrin would stabilize my cravings. Have I not taken it long enough? My husband also doesn't like my mood swings. I guess that could be due to PMS. I'm having a hard time differentiating WB side effects from PMS side effects. I am sleeping less and sometimes get an energy boost and a headache. Can my hormones level out on this medicine so my future menstrual cycles are not so bad? I've tried everything in the past like Birth Control, Effexor, Lexapro, celexa...and they all made me hungry and tired. I thought Wellbutrin was good but not now. Will I eventually start feeling better?

I am tapering off of Klonopin( clonzapam),1mg, was taking it at night, a long, long time. Last week, I came down with a virus or flu, but still went ahead with cutting the klonopin in half, at night, while my doc added Gapapentin( Neurontin) 300mg, one at night, ( to cover the withdrawal) and help with anxiety, and also percribed Wellbutrin XL 150mg-once a day.Sick as a dog, I tapered and began to take the new two meds, I have had a horrible headache yesterday, a stiff neck, and difficulty swallowing, for a few days, insomnia, and today, I woke up this morning with a bad stomach ache. What the heck it this, I know I have been stuffy and sneezy, aches and pains, but I am okay, so I really suspect it is either the withdrawal or one of the new meds, can anyone give me any idea? I dont want to call the dr if this is just withdrawal, or a common symptom(s) of Wellbutrin, or Neurontin.sadiemay, side effects or withdrawal?Wich one, and on what drug?

Its been about a week since i started taking wellbutrin for depression and the side effects are terrible...i'm on 150 mg of wellbutrin xl. My side effects include headaches, irritability, short temper, and a dizzy drowz feeling. It feels terrible i feel like any little thing someone does or says makes me angry....and that is so not like me... My question is will this go away in a week or two as my body adjusts to the medication or when my docotor ups the dose to 300mg will the side effects go away?....... If I know I will feel better soon I can handle it. Any experience will be helpful.

I was taking Wellbutrin XL 150 mg 2x per day and had headaches with bad tension in my neck and eyes... I figured it would go away, but as I moved up to 300 mg 1X a day it was the same if not worse. Is this common? I eventually went back down to 150 mg and if I missed a day-I felt 100% better that day so I stopped taking altogether. I feel I need SOMETHING to take as I may be slipping back in depression... Advice? Should I try it again-it's been 1 mo. off.3 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer. Report It
