Should I tell my psychiatrist about the other medication I'm taking?

I know a twelve year old kid, that has had several problems. It started about one year ago, march 9. He started kicking shoes, throwing things, and was very angry. He did not break anything. He was very angry and irritable. He sad he was so nervous he could not sit still. He heard his name being called from the outside of his head. He heard "kill" inside his head. He had racing thoughts. He did not feel any peace or joy, but he felt nervous and angry. He took "small" rages. When I mean small, he was very aggressive but did not break or ruin anything. The next day (3/10/09) he was admitted to a psychiatric hospital. He was put on Seroquel 50, then 100 milligrams. He and his family were not happy with this hospital and they signed him out. Around March 24, 2009 he went to another Psychiatric Institute & Clinic. He was in there almost 3 weeks. He was put on the medication called Abilify. This helped for a little while. He rode it out adding other medications with it. He finally could not take it, he went goofy again. So, he went to see his therapist and she said you need to go to a Psychiatric Center now. So, he did and he was there six days. They took him off of the Abilify and added Seroquel 25 MG, Risperdal 1 MG, and Wellbutrin 75MG. They helped for about a week or 2. They quit working. He was then put on Seroquel XR 50 MG. They droped regular Seroquel and Risperal. They did keep the Wellbutrin. He did well almost "normal" again. Then he fell apart again. Taking rages, hearing his name, having racing thoughts (which I forgot, he had from day one of his life). He says there is this women watching him in a red shirt and black pants. She is in a cloud. His therapist asked can you make her go away, he tried and it did not. So, they are upping the Seroquel XR to 75 MG. Do you know what type of mental illness he could have? His Uncle has been diagnosed Paranoid Schizophrenic. He is on Clozaril. It has really helped him. His father has a mental illness, but self medicates and has no diagnosis. His father now resides in Canada. We have had several ideas from Doctors but no official diagnosis. Do you have any idea what could be wrong or any good hospitals that you reccomend.THANK YOU, IN ADVANCE

What type of illness or schizophrenia could this be?

Within the past couple of days I've noticed that as I type, the endings of words aren't what they're supposed to be. For example: I'll want to type the word "getting" but I'll end up typing the word "get". Ask I'm typing, I consciously think that I'm typing the correct word until I go back and check for mistakes. This is unusual for me because usually I'm somewhat of a grammar freak and notice all of my mistakes immediately. I've been doing it in text messages too, with words such as start/started, go/going, get/getting, etc etc. It's usually only when I'm trying to specify a certain tense of a verb. It's also happened many times with words like week/weak, fair/fare, etc. I'll type the wrong one and know something's wrong but I have to consciously think about what the right word is. It's like I forget or something. And a few times I've forgotten how to spell common words that I know I know and had to spell them out phonetically before I could remember how to spell them.I know sometimes people make typos and it's normal and whatnot, but not to this degree. It happens almost always when I type as I normally do, this has never happened before. If it helps, I just started taking doses of 100mg of Wellbutrin for the past week, but starting today I'm taking 200 doses... I'm honestly kind of worried about my ability to type words properly.Maybe I'm just having a bad week or something but I'm seriously concerned that it might have something to do with my medication and if it is connected then I can switch meds and tell my doctor... help?

Are my meds affecting my linguistic motor skills? (typing)?

please help me! my meds were changed from 300mg Wellbutrin to 150mg and 60mg Cymbalta. This is the first day i've started with cymbalta. Now i am freaking out and i don't know what else to do. My mom ended up giving me two klonopin the help calm me down because it might be an anxiety attack (runs in the family). It's been about 15 min since i took the second one, and i'm still strung up. I can't concentrate when there are a lot of people talking, i'm shaky/twich, i have this feeling of extreme excitement without the happy part (i guess you could say panic...but it doesn't seem like that). i have a headache and my neck, back, and shoulders are tense. i feel so drugged up right now its hard to even type this. i have several minutes when it feels like an out of body experience...(i'm there and i can see everyone but it feels like i'm standing ten feet behind my eyes...if that makes sense. kinda like i'm gonna pass out but there is no ringing ears or sweating like usual.) i keep laughing uncontrolably about nothing! this is so freaking annoying! Is it withdrawal symptoms from lowering Wellbutrin, is it starting Cymbalta straight off at 60mg, is it an anxiety attack, or could it possibly be a manic/hypomania episode? (There is some bipolar in my family) My mom's calling my psychiatrist tomorrow, but what do i do right now.?0.o```~~~whoa, now i feel loopyany suggestions on what i can do until tomorrow? Thank you all in advance

Help with medication!! I'm freaking out! Anxiety attack? Depression meds?

What meds would you recommend for someone who is bipolar, with both the manic and depressive types? Im currently on 300 mg of Wellbutrin and 75 mg of seroquel. It doesn't seem to be helping much anymore and Im thinking of changing my meds. Thanks.Im just trying to get an idea of what meds work for others so I know what I should try to see what works for me.

What type of medications do you recommend for someone who is Bipolar? ?

I was put on Wellbutrin and it did not really help. I was asking my doctor to change my prescription. Doctor said we had to wait till he set me up with a psychologists to see if i have ADD. Now that i think about it i do not want to take a controlled substance drug. I feel like the psychologist over diagnosed me and gave me 2 types of depression pills, (Xanax) for anxiety. and Seroquel for bi-polar. I refuse to take these drugs, because i feel 100% that he is a nut. The most i may have is mild depression. The thing now is psychologist called my doctor and eliminate the chance of me getting the proper medication for ADHD. Again i know my own body and i feel his judgment on medication is wrong. What can i do to get the proper medication that i need. What would you recommend me to do? What do you think of the psychologist? What medication help you with concentration?

What prescription would help with concentration?

I have depression and I've been on a generic type of Wellbutrin for about 6 months. The problem is that I was considering that Army a little bit, and a possible law enforcement career.I cannot join the Army with depression, and chances get limited for police officer candidates with depression.I was just wondering what the chances are of someone no longer needing the medication.I'm not going to do it against medical advice, because that would not be good for one, and that would look horrible on medical records and limit chances to be hired by any agency.I don't have any thoughts of suicide and I never have. The problems I had were feelings of pessimism and hopelessness, along with fatigue.

Is it possible to no longer need anti-depressants?

I have serious general and social anxiety problems. It got to the point that I dropped out of high school in october and got my GED instead. It also is preventing me from getting a job. I'm too nervous about it so I just sit at home and watch tv instead. I also have concerns because even though I dropped out of high school, I was still accepted into college and will be attending a college at least 2 hours away from home and I don't want to drop out of college like I did high school.I went to a psychiatrist last week but all he wanted to do is put me on zoloft. I have already been on prozac, wellbutrin, and cymbalta made me psychotic. I am now completely opposed to taking any form of anti-depressant or daily medication. I want something that I only have to take when I am anxious. Unfortunately, I was not prescribed any meds like xanax or ativan because I am currently on probation for possession and I smoke weed or get drunk frequently. (somehow this helps me with my depression and anxiety problems) I don't want to have to do this but it's the only thing that has ever worked for me.are there any other meds for anxiety that I only have to take when I am anxious?EDIT: actually I have been off meds since I was on cymbalta back in February but my anxiety has gotten 10 times worse since thenDrtyBthWtr: look, the only reason I can afford college is because I was almost killed in a horrific head on car crash where the other driver died when I was 8 and I got an insurance settlement. don't assume I am rich because the fact is I'm not.

what type of anxiety meds would be good for me?

ok basically heres the thingim severely depressed so i almost never eat so basically i hadnt eaten in over 24 hours and i stayed up all night and i take 50 mg adderall xr and 150 mg wellbutrin xl which i took that morning under the conditions i just described and so around 10 am or so i suddenly could barely breathe and was choking for air and i was dizzy and my chest hurt really bad like stabbing shooting pain and my heart was beating really really fast but faintly my arms stiffened up and hurt in what i think was my vains and my eyes went all blurry and i staggered around banging into things and my neck stiffened and felt nauseous this lasted for a minute or so then the heart thing and the breathing kept going and over the next hour or so slowly went back down but the heart thing kept going at a low level for the rest of the day and the chest pain stayed that long tooso heres what i want to knowdid i just get lucky? or was this no big deal?should i have called 911?oh yea and this has happened like 5 or 6 times beforeand please dont respond to the amount or types of medications or my lifestlye or anything like that just answer the questions the other info was provided to give a bit of background to work from not to comment oni dont think it was a panic attack because ive had those and this was much worse than that i mean this felt like a panic attack except that it felt more physical and i wasnt really anxious that much except for the whole omg i might die thing but really it felt more physical and sudden and not really like a panic attack mentallywell im 18 but hear me out ive lost tons of weight (im not anorexic but ive lost about as much as someone who is would and in a similar amount of time) and i barely eat enough to survive so that plus my sleep and medication are all big risk factors for heart things

should i have called 911?

I have always been a shy kid that kinda quiet so to change the way people think about me and to be more social i was doing drugs about 3 months ago. I felt like i needed a change in my life but this lead to suicidal thought because of the drug use and i went to the hospital and stayed there in a youth behavioral health center. I then got prescribed wellbutrin for depression and seroquil for my anxiety but now 3 months later i dont feel that it is working. Ive gone through therapy outside of the hospital and i know what i have to do socially to fit in but theres just something that keeps pulling me back. i want to know you think i have signs of social anxiety order and what type of medication i should be prescribed for it an my depression. with my "social fear i guess" i have this thought that everyone is better than and i think they will call me stupid and just laugh at me and every time i try to just force myself to talk to them i cant even though i have a comment to add to the conversation. i have a few good friends that i hang out with and do really good socially with i guess its because i know them and know they wont make fun of me. i just wanna build up my life socially and get over depression i keep thinking about going back to drugs and i need your help.

Need Help with my life right now?

I recently went to a new psychiatrist. We sat down for quite a long time and went over everything. I've always had strong symptoms of ADD and I explained that I would like to try some medication for it.I have genetic depression which apparently is quite common to have ADD with as well. I also tested positive on the ADD test sheet she gave me. On top of all that I was recently on Wellbutrin which is another type of mild stimulant that has been prescribed for ADD and it helped great with any attention problems, so I've shown I respond well.Yet oddly in the end she still recommended the full ADD/ADHD test service which costs around $400. Now I completely understand that I should be properly tested etc etc. Yet at $400, there's slim chance of me going through with it. I've looked through the other yahoo answers and I'm getting mixed responses. Any thought on this issue? Is this standard procedure and what has to be done?? $400!!??I do have Blue Cross HMO, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. I mentioned earlier in the meeting I had insurance so I figured the $400 was reflecting that he remembered I did. Perhaps not.I suppose I'm just surprised any mental test could cost so much. I will definitely continue to look into other options, I actually am very holistic. I currently do not take any antidepressants, I exercise, eat well. When I feel I need them, I only take one medication at a time.I'm a 20y/o male from IndianaKeep any more responses coming!!
