What is better for depression, weight loss and concentration? Wellbutrin or Adderall?

I started to take Wellbutrin for depression. After 2 weeks on it, I had to stop. Wellbutrin started to cause major anxiety, nervousness, weight loss, and insomnia. I felt like I was going crazy. I understand the drug gives off tons of adrenaline. Naturally, I always had energy(I'm an athlete). Started Effexor today to help with my anxiety and depression. I hear it is a good medication for my issue but a tough one to come off. Anybody with experience on Effexor. Please share. Also, I hear Effexor is an ok drug for alcohol but could cause craving for it. Thank you!!!!!!!



Wellbutrin to Effexor?

I was prescribed Wellbutrin SR 150 mg 2 and half weeks ago. I want off this drug. First 3 days it worked ok but now, I'm a nervous wreck. Helps with the depression but cannot take the extreme anxiety, insomnia, weight loss, and nervousness. Basiclly, I feel like crap. Not the right medication as I have suffered from extreme anxiety/depression 12 years ago. I look at the Wellbutrin and I do not want to take it. Question is since I have been only on it for 2 and half weeks, would it be safe to quit cold turkey? I do have a doctors apt. in 2 days and hope he puts me on the Effexor as it really really helped me 12 years ago. Thank you!!!!!!!!



Quit cold turkey Bupropion(Wellbutrin SR 150MG)?

I am on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg and have trouble falling asleep even though I am super tired at the end of the day from all the activity I do. Klonopin has caused weight gain although I have had the best results, and I also hear it has high addictive potential (even though I am only taking 0.25 mg so maybe it's not an issue at this low dosage) as a benzodiazepine. Trazodone caused weight loss but not too much, but I ended up feeling more depressed during the day. I even tried a melatonin supplement but over time it ended up slowing me down a lot during the day and I felt depressed too.So is there a way I can deal with the insomnia that the Wellbutrin can bring about? is it possible for me to be able to sleep without some medication? if not, is there a non-addictive drug out there that is ok for long-term usage and doesn't cause weight gain?

I am 24yrs old, have bipolar 1 and am taking 40mg of paxil and 2x 100mg of seroquel xr. I have been experiencing weight gain, lost libido, and fatigue. Can my psychiatrist prescribe me phentermine? what about wellbutrin? how effective is wellbutrin for weight loss? is there anything else that would help me?* I am on a low carb, low fat diet and I exercise 4 days a week.

I will like to lose weight and I having a hard time?

I have been on 300 mg of Wellbutrin for about 3 months for depression, and i dont feel like its working as well as something could, so i did some research and reading and found that add medication can sometimes also be used to treat depression/anxiety/weight loss. A friend of mine is on the Wellbutrin as well and has the same symptoms as me, and i am desperate to try anything that might work. (My doctor is also sending me to get tested for add) Anyways... my friend gave me 5 mg dexedrine tablets to try. The first day i took one..didnt feel anything, almost 2 hours later took another one, still nothing...then 4 hours later took one and sort of felt more energized and happy. I've taken in for about 5 days now and havent noticed anything. I was wondering that since i'm on 300 mg of wellbutrin that maybe my tolerance for dexedrine could be higher and maybe i should try a higher dose? this morning i took 2x10mg dexedrine and havent felt anything. Most reviews i've read is that they have felt energized and happy and motivated. but i dont feel any good or bad effects.i feel nothing. I just want to try a dose so that i can see what it will do for me. I've been feeling a little bit more positive but that might just be because i have it in my head that that is what it's supposed to do for you. Could someone please answer or give me some feedback? (please dont talk about the fact that i shouldnt be taking something that isnt prescribed for me) Thank you!

I'm seventeen and, in the past month, I've gained about ten percent of my body weight--from 105 to 115 pounds. The only thing is... This isn't normal! I eat under 1,000 calories a day and burn off about 150 biking (but it's not muscle weight I've gained). My gynecologist was very concerned, and tested my thyroid for the fourth time--again, it's completely normal!My prolactin levels were high, but i'm 90% sure it's just a side effect of my Wellbutrin (which does NOT cause weight gain, usually weight loss).What's going on?? I have never weighed over 110 pounds... I'm only 5'3" and I honestly look like I'm nearly four or five months pregnant. It is uncomfortable and I feel horrible about this weight gain. I know 115 is healthy and 105 is border-line underweight for my height, but I'm not normally this size. Help?

please help i have severe depression AND anxiety. i also have chronic stomach pains that never seem to go away. i'm getting on a med tomorrow. i am looking for an SSRI. i do not want to gain weight. most antidepressants seem to slow down your metabolism. wellbutrin speeds up metabolism and i would go with that except it causes seizures in a lot of patients. what is a med that wont make me gain weight. a lot of physc meds also cause loss of libio i dont want that either. also i dont want my skin to break out. what is the best antidepressant with lowest side effects that will make u loose weight vs/ gain or do nothing at all. please helpbesides exercise asshole. i already do that.

I had awful time taking Effexor. I had nightmares, shakes and not a good time. I had a horrible withdrawl from it too. Would it be safe to try Wellbutrin? I am a little overweight, so I don't mind the weight loss side effect, but are there any other major ones I should look for?
