Wellbutrin SR 100mg daily?

My GP prescribed me Wellbutrin SR a couple of weeks ago. I told him I wanted to stop using tobacco and that I had anxiety and depression issues. I also said that I was scared to take any kind of drug let alone an antidepressant because of the side effects that I have read about here. He said that Wellbutrin will help me with all the issues so I reluctantly agreed to take it. He told me to take 150 mg for 7 days then 300 mg. Well, after six days the buzzed feeling in my head and the terrible dry (cotton mouth) was getting to me so I quit taking it. It has been a week since I quit and the cotton mouth has not went away! Is this permanent? Has this stuff messed me up permanently? Please, I need someones advice who has taken this drug. Also, after quitting taking it my anxiety and depression has gotten worse. I started taking St John's Wort because I heard it worked well but I am thinking about starting the Wellbutrin again but I am scared. I just don't know what to do! And don't tell me that I shouldn't have quit taking it without telling my Dr. I know that! An I really would like to hear from men on this issue. I feel that antidepressants work differently on men than women so I want a guys advice. Thank you!

I battle depression and anxiety. I am pregnant. therefore the doctors refuse to give me anything that might help me because of the baby. I was prescribed Wellbutrin SR 200 mg a day as my one and only choice, so i took it. I have been on it since december 14th. I hate this! my heart races after i take it. like, pounding in my chest and racing where i feel short of breathe. it gives me headaches, i can't sleep, and my anxiety shot through the roof. i want to stop. it hasn't even helped my depression. other than the side effects i would swear it's tylennol i take every day. what is the best way to get off of it? if i had only been taking it a few days i'd just stop cold turkey but i've been on it a month now. please help i feel like i'm losing my mind.

I really want to lose weight and i think a combination of taking the meds, eating right, and exercise will help me lose weight a little faster. Anyway, my questions to you are:1. ok so i have mild to moderate depression. i take 100mg of Wellbutrin SR. and i can say, it has helped. but......i think i don't need it anymore. the medication wears off around 1 am and i feel no different without it. so im thinking...A.) the side effects are hurting me more than the meds are helping me(headches, acne, weight gain, loss of appetite, insomnia, etc.)B.) if im feeling better without the meds than why should i be costing my mom more money buying meds that i don't need anymoreand C.) im still going to therapy monthly so if i start to feel depressed again, i can go back to my normal dosage. it's not like i wanna go cold turkey, completely off of them, i just wanna be able to get on a lower dosage and then get myself off of the medication.i mean i don't want to depend on a medication to make me feel ok forever and if i'm feeling fine without it, than why not try to see if i can be ok without the medication?no the medication is working i just want offi just think i can go without it.



Thinking about going off Depression medication?

I switched from Wellbutrin XL to Wellbutrin SR (300mg) to add to my Effexor SR (37.5mg) and the first week of getting back on my Wellbutrin, I was actually a little hyper-sexual… Now it is the end of week 2 and I am numb from the neck down.When I watch something ‘exciting’ I still lubricate but when I try to act on those thoughts, I feel NOTHING AT ALL in my clitoris. Biologically, in every other way, I am turned on but when I try to do something about it, I am unable to get ANY satisfaction.Is it normal to still have the thoughts and the lubrication of arousal yet be unable to finish the act? Should I wait another few weeks to see if I get my ability to orgasm back? What are your feelings on this?

I've just started taking wellbutrin SR to help me quit smoking, and its my second day.Day 1 I felt hazy, forgetful and i had a small burst of anger at the end of the day and to top it all off i was EXTREMELY tired.Today when I took it, I was like.. unnaturally happy and just excited. and then a few hours after that, i got very very tired and now i'm feeling a little depressed. Is it because I dont feel the need to smoke as much? Like I know it blocks whatever in your brain craves nicotine, but does your body still have withdrawal symptoms? what could it be? did anyone else experience anything similar on Wellbutrin?thanks everyone :)

For the past month, I've been extremely lethargic, fatigued, hungry, thirsty, and headache-ridden, despite the fact that I get 8 hours of sleep a night, exercise 5 times a week, and eat a well-balanced diet along with a multivitamin. I am taking several medications, which include Lamictal, Zoloft, Wellbutrin SR, and Apri, but have been on them for years without side effects, with the exception of Apri, which I just started three months ago. I went to the doctor and she said my hemoglobin, CBC, and thyroid levels were normal.



Constantly feeling tired, dizzy, and hungry...?

I have been told that some anti-depressants do not work if you smoke marijuana, like prozac. Is wellbutrin sr like this as well, if so, is it any better? Also would like to know if it is better for drinking alcohol than other anti-depressants. Thanks.
