I just started taking Wellbutrin XL and I'm feeling a bit odd?

A prescription for a 30-day supply of 300 mg Wellbutrin XL is $300. The generic 300 mg Budeprion XL is $150. What gives? Why is this drug so expensive when there are countless other generic drugs for $5?

I currently take wellbutrin xl 150 mg. i am weening my self off of it and have cut the dosage in half. I have mild depression and serious anxiety and want to consider an alternative natural med. What would be best to try furst St. John wort or Sam-e. Does Sam-E helo with both depression and anxiety? i need something for both.

I am 5 months pregnant and with my first pregnancy, I took prozac 20 mg but my daughter has a speech delay. She didn't start talking until 2. I have read that it might not be because of the prozac, but I am not so sure. Now I am taking the lowest does of wellbutrin with my 2nd pregnancy but I am sooo uncomfortable and my boobs hurt all the time, there are sharp jabbing feelings on my abdomen. I am not sure if it is related to the wellbutrin. The docs say everything is fine. I am constantly worried and wondered what other's experience was on this drug while pregnant.



Anyone take wellbutrin XL 150 mg while pregnant?

I have been taking Wellbutrin XL for about a year and 7 months. I was on 150 mg for the first 12 months, then 300 mg for the last 7. (I love it; I feel like I couldn't have imagined a medicine that would make me feel so normal. Just... normal, and consistent, not "high" and no longer experiencing manic lows.) I have always used name brand because I could afford it and because my Dr. recommended it, and am hesitant about generics. The reason I'm hesitant is because I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo (birth control) for a year or so, but the $60 copay was getting costly, so I switched to the generic... I had the worst depression I've had in 2 years, I ate literally 4 times what I eat on a normal basis, and was a psychotic mess. I would get depressed and hopeless for no real reason, every single day, and cried at least twice a day during that time. Without even really knowing why.. I was still on the Wellbutrin during that time but I may as well have been off of it. I thought I was just crazy, but then I went online and read other people's experiences with that specific birth control and learned that many other people had this bad reaction to the generic, and ended up switching back to name brand. Needless to say, I did. Anyway, so my co-pay for the Wellbutrin is $60 a month, and recently my Dr. has put me on other medications too so I want to cut costs and am thinking of switching to the generic (Bupropion)... But after a year & 1/2 of satisfaction with the name brand, added with my terrible experience with the generic of the birth control medicine vs name brand, I'm really scared to switch and wondering what other people's experiences have been? I don't want to read drug facts, because I've done significant research already, I really just want to hear what other people have experienced from the generic, or from the generic compared to name brand. I realize that I need to weigh the options between spending the extra $ and the value of my health, etc etc, I'm not looking for advice, I'm just looking for other people's side effects because that can give me an idea of how bad it may or may not be.Please help... I don't want to go through another experience like I did with my previous generic, so I could use some feedback. Thanks!



Different side effects of Bupropion (generic) vs. Wellbutrin XL? (Thinking of switching to generic but scared)?

I'm not one to abuse drugs or get a kick off taking meds. But here lately i have begun to question my doctor for pushing so many pills on me. Here is a list of what all my doctor is prescribing me. Celexa 20 mg, Wellbutrin XL 150 mg, Trazodone 50 mg, Lorazepam 1 mg, Enalapril 10 mg, Temazepam 30 mg, Adderal XR 30 mg, and last but not least Abilify 20 mg. Now im no doctor or pharmacist but seems like this is an awful lot of meds and im not sure if its safe



Is it safe to be taking all this?

Actually, I ask this because some says 150 is better than 300. I wonder why lower dose is better. If you have experienced both, which is better for you?

Okay, I've been on Wellbutrin 150MG XL for a little over a week now. But I only filled a partial presription, due to the cost. Right now I don't know if I'd be able to afford filling the 150MG again for another week or so. But I have a entire full bottle of Wellbutrin 300MG XL.. (The Doctor wrote me a presription for 150MG for a week, and then move onto 300 after that. I accidentally filled the 300 so now im stuck with it). But then the Doc decided to keep me only on 150MG, cuz I told him I wanted to avoid side effects if possible... But now that I'm out of the 150MG, I still have that 300MG dose he gave me earlier ... What should I do?I can't call the doctors, closed all weekend... I don't want to miss 3 days in a row though, either... Should I just start on the 300MG? The docs idea was to have me go on it anyways... I just thought I'd rather be on a lower dose, to avoid side effects, so he said "okay we'll keep you on 150 then"... but now yeh...



Wellbutrin - what should i do?

What do the rest of you twitches (like me) do? I take meds and have as needed meds. Already ate a Valium and an Ambien. I know if I lay there unable to sleep it will become a full blown freakout. All started with a twinge of chest pain after a bad chicken wrap. Couple belches and the pain is gone but the damage is done :) What do you guys do? I am not anti-medication but again feel like a pill head when I reach for these medicines. BTW I take Wellbutrin XL 150 daily and have been doing great. Nothing like this for about 2 years. I always get to a point where I think it is time to come off of the Wellbutrin and something like this happens. Thanks to anyone who responds...Yes my medicine works. But I work in healthcare and fear turning into one of my patients. I would love to find something else that works of a non pharmaceutical nature. Also something I don;t have to space out with work and my taking it. I obviously don't want to be impaired while working. I also hate the fact that when I change jobs and have to take a pee test I will fail and have to explain myself..Ambien has been around about 15 years that I know of. And Valium is older than I am at 35.I find myself taking an Ambien once or twice a week or less and the Valium once a week on average. The Wellbutrin works for me. SSRI's scare me with there side effects. I again just wondered if any of you used some natural remedies and had first hand experience with it working?
