What is the right type of antidepressant for me?

I have general anxiety problems along with depression. I started on Effexor, stayed on that for 5 yrs or so, then my dr. thought I should try Cymbalta. NOT good. Since then I have been on Zoloft (hated it), Paxil (makes me tired). I am currently on a Paxil-Wellbutrin combo. To be perfectly honest I don't feel that great. I felt better when I took Effexor than I ever have. I'm still not sure why my dr took me off it to begin with. Do any of you take these types of meds? Can you tell me about your experience and what you find helpful? Thanks

Can anyone give me some feedback on antidepressants?

I don't have it now, but people are always like, "Keep eatin' all that sugar! You hear? & watch you catch diabetes."I'm 5'2" & weigh about 285. Lots of times, I get weak, dizzy & shaky, & I need something sweet to eat. & when the doctors do a blood glucose test, my levels are usually 79 (fasting). Most recent was 96 (fasting). I'm always craving sugary foods. My antidepressants used to make me very hungry for years, but now that I'm on Wellbutrin, I'm not so hungry. But it's still a battle to lose this weight. I try to exercise, but it's hard to push myself. My depression is so bad that I can't even get out of bed. My iron is low, & I never have any energy, even with this Wellbutrin & a double dose of iron pills that my Dr. prescribed. So, can a person develop Type 2 Diabetes without being @ fault or blame, or feeling guilty? People tell me that if I get diabetes, then it would be ALL my fault. I'm afraid that if I "do" catch it, I'd feel bad. I'm trying to watch what I eat.

If I develop Type 2 Diabetes, would it be GUARANTEED to be MY fault?

My husband is actually an active duty Officer Candidate in the National Guard and, I am getting ready to join the National Guard soon and was curious to know what kind of drug screen is administered, blood or urine? My husband cant remeber. And does the test detect antidepressants such as wellbutrin or Lexapro? All serios answers will be appreciated.

What type of drug test does the army administer?

i took 100mg wellbutrin in the morning, an antidepressant ive been taking for some time. sleeping that night was realyl importance because i knew i had a term paper to write the next day, and im an insomniac. so i took 37.5mg zopiclone and 1mg ativan and slept. today? i think my body/mind must have gone through a serious shock due to the combo of those drugs because - I LITERALLY CANNOT TYPE. I've been an excellent typist since 1998, 92 WPM and perfect accuracy up until yesterday. today, even if im looking at the keyboard i keep missing letters and hit wrong keys. its as if my sense to know where the letters are on the keyboard is completely out of whack. Looks as if there will be no term paper written today.so:1)what you think it was that did this to me? was it likely the drugs? ive never taken that particular combo of drugs before in my life, though ive taken all those drugs at different times.2) how long are effects likely to last? Could they be permanent?Thank you

took wellbutrin/ativan/ 37.5 mg zopiclone - feeling weird - help!?

I prefer answers from people who have taken more than one type of these medications and have found one better than the rest...I tried Prozac, with fair results and Lexapro, which I found fairly helpful also. I am determined to stay completely off of alcohol from here on out. I realize that everyone responds differently to meds, but I'm wondering what people have found better between the common SSRIs: Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Effexor, and the others. Thanks...Oh, and I'm NOT considering suicide, just having thoughts of wanting life to be much more than I've made it in recent years...

Which SSRI antidepressant works best for someone who is an alcoholic, bipolar, and having suicidal thoughts?

I have very few resources monetarily... so it took a LOT of convincing, and actually many years of suffering, before I finally worked up to ask my Dr. for an antidepressant. I did therapy, they wanted to give me pills, but I always refused it thinking I would work my way through my problems. Now I'm 32 and I've given up working my way through. I have stopped making any improvement, and I think I'm up to the fact that I'm biologically depressed...I explained all this to my Dr. He started to write out a prescription for wellbutrin XL. He then handed me a questionaire "for the record" that was one of those dinky 10-question "Have you ever" types... I checked those that applied.Seeing my answers, he said "You're bipolar".. & changed his mind, referred me to a psych that is way out of my budget and gave me nothing. I already spent $70 with this Dr. that I feel has been wasted... What should I do? Can't afford the psych, nor anymore runaround. I need a solution that works.Sorry my text is so ... choppy. Couldn't really say everything in the length given...My problem is, I'm well educated on bipolar and its treatments. I don't need more therapy, and cannot AFFORD more therapy. I need something to help me deal with life before I end up on the streets. I scraped together that money, and just enough to buy a scrip if he gave it, and now have nothing to show for that $70... I am afraid another Dr. would just refuse me again, and waste more money. And the psych he referred me to is $275/hour. I have not been able to find out how to get any public mental health assistance either. I live in Beaumont, TX.

Dr. refused to prescribe antidepressant because I'm bipolar?
