Experiences on Wellbutrin SR and XL?

I was prescribed 100 mg Wellbutrin SR 10 days ago and have done moderate drinking while on it (2 mixed drinks). I don't plan on drinking more than twice a week, and each time just sticking to 2 mixed drinks. Now I have been switched to 150 mg Wellbutrin XL. I have never had any history in my family of seizures or anxiety and I have not had problems with it myself. Has anyone had any experiences with drinking at all? Just curious to see how it is, I know the medication has lowered my tolerance.I really don't desire to get drunk... I'm just wondering how bad an occasional drink or two with a friend at a bar can be.



Experiences with drinking while on Wellbutrin XL?

I wanted to get some peoples experience on the two. I am taking 150mg wellbutrin SR two times a day, for OCD, and weight management. I am just curious if people noticed more of a curbed appetite with the SR or XL. I would like to hear some pros and cons of each. Also I would like some peoples experience on drinking beer, I know it says not to drink but I like to drink some beer on saturday night, have you drank while taking this, what did you experience.



Wellbutrin SR or XL 10 points for best answer?

I am in outpatient treatment for depression. I had taken a pretty hard hit mentally and emotionally and was trusting the psychiatrist assigined to me. He had put me on Wellbutrin XL 450 mg once a day taken orally first thing in the morning.Three weeks he changed the prescription, but the only change was from XL to SR. He said nothing about dosing changes. After continuing to be miserable with memory and perception problems, deep depression in the mornings etc, I found that the 3 150 mg pills he had prescribed were to be taken no closer than 6 hours apart.Two reasons: Taking them closer increases the risk of seizure, but more importantly, the SR tablet is designed to fully metabolize out of ones body in 12 hours. After speaking to the doctor today he still refuses to change the dosing instructions.Am I missing something here? Will you guys give me some feedback? Any experience in this? I feel like I've been getting up every morning with no anti-depressants in me.



What is the effect of taking all of your daily Wellbutrin SR at once?

ok, so I have been on Wellbutrin SR 100 + XL 150 for about 11 months. I took Accutane (like 50 or 60 mg was the max I think) for six of those months (I stopped Accutane about 3 months ago). Ever since I started school, my hair has been falling out at an alarming rate. It is like it won't stop. My doctor said it was Telogen Effluvium and possibly stress related, but I don't really feel that stressed. If it IS stress related, it's possibly my roommate who, for some reason, makes me sooooo uncomfortable when she is in the room (mean, bossy, bratty, criticizes every thing I do, embarrasses me...).While on Accutane my hair was fine. But is it possible to develop TE such a long time after starting a medication (Wellbutrin)? Or after stopping it (Accutane)? Or is it just that my roommate stresses me out too much? **History: I had two previous episodes of TE in the past 5 years. One 5 years ago---eating disorder. The other was from Concerta (2 years ago)*Is this normal if I'm 18?



whyyyyy is my hair falling out like crazy?

I switched from Wellbutrin XL to Wellbutrin SR (300mg) to add to my Effexor SR (37.5mg) and the first week of getting back on my Wellbutrin, I was actually a little hyper-sexual… Now it is the end of week 2 and I am numb from the neck down.When I watch something ‘exciting’ I still lubricate but when I try to act on those thoughts, I feel NOTHING AT ALL in my clitoris. Biologically, in every other way, I am turned on but when I try to do something about it, I am unable to get ANY satisfaction.Is it normal to still have the thoughts and the lubrication of arousal yet be unable to finish the act? Should I wait another few weeks to see if I get my ability to orgasm back? What are your feelings on this?

Wellbutrin can be abused/used recreationally? What does that mean exactly?

I ran out of Wellbutrin and (stupidly) waited three days to fill my new prescription. I take 150 mg of SR (generic buproprion). The doctor accidentally wrote the script for XL. The pharmacist said it should be okay, so I took it for 2 days before deciding that since the SR worked so well for me, I didn't want to change. I stopped taking the pill for another day when I waited for my new SR script. I didn't think that 4 days over the course of a week could affect me, but I'm very jittery and shaky. I'm also wondering if the few days I was on XL could be doing this to me--but I haven't take it since Monday. Anyone want to weigh in?It hasn't taken that long to get filled--it's a 15-minute process once I get to the pharmacy--I go to a specific pharmacy that I really like, but can't always get there. So I waited 3 days before getting the script filled, then after it got fixed, I waited another day or 2 before picking it up--not smart, I know. First poster, I take the drug for depression/OCD, not weight loss.



Could I be in Wellbutrin Withdrawal?

I am loving wellbutrin for my depression, and I have no sexual side effects (other antidepressants really affect that with me), and I have no food cravings and have lost weight with it. However, I am finding that my anxiety is creeping back up on me. Would the XL maybe stay in my system longer and work better? Or would a larger dose help? Thanks, really don't want to go back to anything else if I can help it.
