About 5 weeks ago I came off of Effexor, with some real weird withdrawal symptoms, and started on 150mg daily of Wellbutrin XL. My question is would it be okay to increase this dosage to 300mg daily as at the moment it doesnt feel like this low dose works. I do have an appointment with my doctor next week but dont feel I can wait that long to ask. Much appreciate hearing anyone views on this, thanks.



Increasing Wellbutrin XL dosage?

I've been on WB for just over 2 months and had some side effects I can no longer live with. Among them is insomnia. I was taking 150 XL. the sleeping improved a LITTLE bit, in that I could sleep at times with the aid of only one Benadryl. But my sleep has just not been the same, and I can't rely on sleep meds. I recently lowered my prescription to 75mg, and in the normal release form (they don't make XL less than 150). I take one just in the AM. I'm hoping that maybe this lesser dosage and the shorter half life will reduce the night time side effects. Two days now, and I'm having withdrawal side effects, including flu like symptoms, depression, and TOTAL fog. I just don't feel altogether there. Also, last two nights have been absolutely miserable. Two benadryls last night did nothing but make me loopy and freaked out, since I was drugged, but not sleeping. Up all night. I'm hoping this will improve VERY soon. Anyone experience this? How long does it take for the withdrawal effects to go away? I'm assuming they're withrawal symptoms, since I've reduced my dose in half. I would really appreciate some feedback!I did consult my Dr., by the way, though it was kind of a formality. He's not a specialist, and basically just said he doesn't see a problem with my getting off of it. Also, I was never too depressed as much as very very moody. Also took it for ADD. It does help me stabilize my moods, but I can't live with the insomnia. It's also lowered my sex drive.



Wellbutrin withdrawal side effects?

I've been on Paxil 37.5 mg for at least 5-8 years. The sexual side effects are horrendous, so 2 weeks ago my family dr switched me to Wellbutrin XL 150mg. The dr did not taper me off very well of the Paxil, just had me start the Wellbutrin, take one of the 37.5 Paxil with it the first day and then three days later take one 37.5 Paxil while continuing on the Wellbutri. I've been on Wellbutrin for 2 weeks now and took the last Paxil 1 week ago. I am having awful withdrawals, brain zaps, lightheadedness, just feeling weird all over in my head. I'm afraid that in the future that getting off Wellburtin will be the same way. I am thinking of quitting the Wellbutrin, since I've only been on it for 2 weeks b/c I don't want to feel this same way later on when getting of Wellbutrin in the future. My depression has been extremely minimal while on the Paxil, so I am tempted to quit the Wellbutrin and see if I will be fine without the meds. Any withdrawals from Wellbutrin after 2 wks of taking?



Quitting Wellbutrin after 2 weeks... withdrawals?

I have been taking Wellbutrin xl for 4 days now. I have been on Effexor and am now switching to the Wellbutrin. I have had some crazy withdrawal effects from the Effexor like brain shivers and stuff. I was wondering if the coming off the Effexor was making me hungry or the Wellbutrin making me hungry. I don't want to gain weight!!!

Cutting down clonazepam?

I am tapering off of Klonopin( clonzapam),1mg, was taking it at night, a long, long time. Last week, I came down with a virus or flu, but still went ahead with cutting the klonopin in half, at night, while my doc added Gapapentin( Neurontin) 300mg, one at night, ( to cover the withdrawal) and help with anxiety, and also percribed Wellbutrin XL 150mg-once a day.Sick as a dog, I tapered and began to take the new two meds, I have had a horrible headache yesterday, a stiff neck, and difficulty swallowing, for a few days, insomnia, and today, I woke up this morning with a bad stomach ache. What the heck it this, I know I have been stuffy and sneezy, aches and pains, but I am okay, so I really suspect it is either the withdrawal or one of the new meds, can anyone give me any idea? I dont want to call the dr if this is just withdrawal, or a common symptom(s) of Wellbutrin, or Neurontin.sadiemay, side effects or withdrawal?Wich one, and on what drug?

Hello-I'm currently taking Wellbutrin 150 mgs. XL for depression with no side effects. However, some depression is returning, and the 300 mg (next size up) of Wellbutrin is too much and made me jumpy and angry so I went back down.My doctor has now suggested adding 50 mgs. of Effexor XR instead. But when I read some of the things people have said about, it looks like scary stuff with people acting strange and withdrawal problems. Can you tell me your experiences with it?I've been throught 2 doctors and a few bad medicines in the last bit, so I'm always afraid of something new. But I want very much to just feel better.Thanks :)



Experiences with Effexor XR?

I have decided I don't want to be on these drugs anymore. I have tried tapering in the past, but I couldn't do it, I felt like crap so I started taking my regular dose. Now I have decided to just stop, and deal with the withdrawal. Anyone else done this, how did it work out? Is it very dangerous or do you just feel sick for a while? Any tips or thoughts on this?

I just found out that I am pregnant about 2 weeks ago and have stopped taking Wellbutrin XL by the advice of my psychiatrist and OB-GYN. I stopped it about 2 weeks ago and am not feeling like withdrawal is kicking in: a couple of crying spells, feeling depressed, diarrea, neausea. I know this sounds like pregnancy symptoms too, but I have stopped my meds before and have had these symptoms.Has anyone else experienced this?
