Anti-Depressants v.s Thyroid Medication?

okay - so i my cycle wasn't regular until january 2009. i'm 20 years old. almost 21. in a one year period, my breasts have grown from a 32B to a 36D.also, since march of 2009, i've been on antidepressants. i was on paxil for 2 months, and for about 6 months or so i've been on wellbutrin. my question is, is my weight gain from hormones/getting my period? or is it from switching medications/being on medication?i eat a healthy diet, and walk 5 miles a day on average, yet i'm struggling with my weight. i'm thinking about quitting my meds cold turkey. i'm currently on 150mg of wellbutrin xl no rude comments pleasethankyou

I am on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg and have trouble falling asleep even though I am super tired at the end of the day from all the activity I do. Klonopin has caused weight gain although I have had the best results, and I also hear it has high addictive potential (even though I am only taking 0.25 mg so maybe it's not an issue at this low dosage) as a benzodiazepine. Trazodone caused weight loss but not too much, but I ended up feeling more depressed during the day. I even tried a melatonin supplement but over time it ended up slowing me down a lot during the day and I felt depressed too.So is there a way I can deal with the insomnia that the Wellbutrin can bring about? is it possible for me to be able to sleep without some medication? if not, is there a non-addictive drug out there that is ok for long-term usage and doesn't cause weight gain?

I am sure the frequent urination is directly correlated to how much I drink. I can easily down 5-8 water bottles in an hour, yet I still am thirsty. I constantly drink and drink, yet it never seems to quench my thirst. I provided a urine sample to my physician yesterday, he stated that there was no sugar in my urine, so diabetes is ruled out. I am on several medications and I am not sure if any of these medications are producing these symptoms (seroquel xr, wellbutrin xl, lamictal) or if it is something bigger such as a medical condition. I would appreciate any feedback you may have to offer. Thank you.



I have symptoms of extreme thirst and frequent urination...?

Ok so for a little background history. I was diagnosed with adjustment disorder as well as major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder about 6 years ago. I have tried almost every antidepressant on the market: Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil, Wellbutrin XL, Seroquel XR, Effexor XR, Pristiq, as well as Xanax and Ativan for my panic attacks. None of these have worked and have given me horrible side effects such as huge weight gain, changes in sleeping patterns, and suicidal thoughts. I am NOT doing SSRI's anymore. My depression has gone away for now, so I need to find a medication that solely treats anxiety and is not habit-forming like Paxil or Prozac. Tapering off those medications was hell and I refuse to do it again.Is anyone on any medications solely for anxiety/panic attacks that work well? Ativan makes me confused and sedated, making me more anxious because I can't do my tasks or work correctly.

Hi everyone. When i was about 9 or 10, i was diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). I was given Lithium and Wellbutrin XL. I used to be a very bad kid, very energetic yet very mean. I also would sit in the corners of my house and cry and think everything was my fault, (although i still blame alot of things on myself and get very depressed every few weeks.) After about a year, through constant blood tests for my Lithium, I stopped taking the Lithium and Wellbutrin XL because it made me feel like not myself, somewhat like a zombie. The medicine really did help with my symptoms and made me lead a normal life but after i quit them i have alot of trouble in school. At about the same time i was almost put into a hospital for 72 hours because of the fear of hurting myself. My psychiatrist wanted to put me in one but my mom and dad said no. So why is it that i was given Bipolar medication for my ADD? I still believe that i also have Bipolar Disorder along with my ADD, although i don't want to go back for my medications. Do you believe the psychiatrist gave me the medications thinking I also have Bipolar disorder? Today after probably around 5 years of me being pretty depressed, I finally mustered up enough courage to talk to my doctor about it and she prescribed me Wellbutrin XL 150mg to try out for a while. I have never heard of this antidepressant so I don't really know much about it and was just wondering about other peoples experiences using it. How long does it take to feel its effects? I know its not an over the night type of medication so will I start to notice a difference within a month? more?Also has anyone had any negative side effects from using it? I read it can cause weight loss, is that true? Cause I wouldn't complain about that side effect lol. Any info any one can give me would be great.also, it says it can increase your chance of having a seizure, which kind of concerns me. I have never actually had a seizure, so is there anything for me to be worried about?



Has anyone had success using Wellbutrin for depression?

I was prescribed 100 mg Wellbutrin SR 10 days ago and have done moderate drinking while on it (2 mixed drinks). I don't plan on drinking more than twice a week, and each time just sticking to 2 mixed drinks. Now I have been switched to 150 mg Wellbutrin XL. I have never had any history in my family of seizures or anxiety and I have not had problems with it myself. Has anyone had any experiences with drinking at all? Just curious to see how it is, I know the medication has lowered my tolerance.I really don't desire to get drunk... I'm just wondering how bad an occasional drink or two with a friend at a bar can be.
