Alcoholic and depression?

I have been taking Wellbutrin sr for 5 years now--300 mgs a day. It worked for several years at relieving my low grade but chronic depression (dysthymia). However within the last year I have felt my depression slowly creeping back in even though there is nothing stressful going on in my life. I am not upset or troubled about anything going on in my life. It is as if the symptoms of depression literally, slowly snuck back in. It annoys me because it is as if no matter how positive and active I try to be I have a sense of subtle sadness that hangs over my head like a cloud. If I were not on Wellbutrin I am sure it would be a deep depression. What irks me though is that it seems as though my meds are fizzling out on me. They are not working as well as they used to. Has anyone ever had to try something new after a few years? I know there are some newer antidepressants out there now that have improved over the last few years. Or would a combo of meds be a good idea?



Anyone ever had an antidepressant fizzle out on them????
