I was on Zyban (same thing) 150mg for seven days, then stepped up to 300mg for two or three days ... I noticed a ringing in my ears (tinnitus) and read the consumer leaflet again and found it to be a rare, but serious side effect to tell your doctor about or go to hospital immediately. Perhaps an exaggeration, but I did stop it the next day. I will be seeing my doctor in less than two weeks; however his opinion may be bias.The problem is ... it's been a couple of days and it hasn't gone away. An incessant ringing in my ears that varies with intensity. Not a problem that I've had before which is an important consideration.Questions are, how (mechanism of action) does is cause this? I also recall feeling a popping sensation in my left ear that night, could this be related or a sign of damage?Why is it considered such a serious side effect? (i.e., they don't list it as a side effect that you can ignore and only tell your doctor about if it becomes bothersome)And finally (I wasn’t warned about this!) but can it possibly be permanent?

Does the dopamine levels stay the same or do they drop back to what they where at the start or worse ?TBH I m takin it for depression, so m dopamine levels where low and to deal with some problems from ssri's, my only worry is it will go back to being low, when I stop

I would like to hear success and failure stories, the same, about this product. It is my goal to be a non-smoker, once again. But i need help with the withdrawal symptoms (my mind is right....but my body is craving the nicotine). I'm not interested in chantix, zyban or wellbutrin because i'm not really into taking prescription drugs if they can be avoided (i know...don't ask why i smoke cigarettes). I'd only like to hear about Smoke Deter, other homeopathic treatments, or different methods (aside from cold turkey) that i don't know about.....thanks♥



Has anyone tried the product "Smoke Deter"?

I'm not asking for myself. I used Zyban four years ago to stop smoking. The doctor suggested my husband use Wellbutrin instead of Zyban. I have it that the two are the same thing, so why tell him Wellbutrin is better? Also, he only has to take one tablet per day for the next three months. When I was on Zyban I had to take two tablets a day for three months. Will it still work on such a low dosage (it's the same per tablet as the Zyban)? Since my sister's now on Zyban to stop smoking, she also has to take two tablets a day, we're thinking either the pharmacist or the doctor made a mistake with the script.



Wellbutrin/Zyban... to stop smoking.?

Hi! I've been taking Chantix for 1 month now. I am smoke free for 21 days today. The problem is, I feel I am very depressed. I have little interest in things that I enjoy. A 50 year old man here with a normally high sex drive now reduced to zero..I have trouble making decissions and feel like I am in the fog. This is not good for a second grade teacher,,,,,,,VERY stressfull job normally.Hence the question. I do NOT want to start smoking again like the half a pack a day for the last 25 years.Yet,,, I can not stand feeling so ultimately lousy. Can I take wellbutrin, or some other antidepressant????? I took ZYBAN (wellbutrin) once before and did fine on it. I quit for 120 days and went out and started smoking again. Please help,,,,I will call my doctor,,,but what do you think? Chantix has been a very good drug for many,,, but I feel just terrible emotionally. No more happiness.Will the joy of smoking ever go away? Even though I know how dreadful it is for you?



Can I take Wellbutrin or another antidepressant with chantix???

Ok Here's the deal: I can't take Nicorette losenges spray inhaler or patches. I simply don't smoke that much. I was on Chantix smoking dropped from 1/2 pack a day to 1 cigarette a day. I had to quit taking the Chantix because i was having this feeling of drunkedness. I don't drink. I am afraid to try Zyban or Wellbutrin because of the fact that Chantix supposedly is least likely to show side effects. Ok so today is my first day off the Chantix & that uncontrollable urge for a cigarette is back I wanted one with my coffee and the urge is still there now. I haven't given in & I won't, but the urge is overwhelming. I found a tea awhile back that I could drink that will help. Anybody got some other suggestions? Herbal or cold turkey tips I don't care it's all welcome. ThanksThe feeling of drunkedness was this: Dizziness staggering "Hangover" Headache. I literally could not walk without grabbing ahold of everything in sight & also I kept falling out of my chair. :(
