Anti-depressants: Only Wellbutrin works, but allergic. Options?

I took bupropion SR a few years ago, and recall taking a pill that looked like a lopsided diamond, and was light blue. It was definitely not viagra, for those wise-crackers out there. I was surprised to pick up a renewed prescription and it was a totally different color and shape. I'm wondering if any manufacturers may have changed the pill type in the last 4 years or so? Funny enough, when I do an internet image search, I find a picture of what I seem to remember taking, but only on the mail-order-online-pharmacy type websites. FDA, Glaxosmithkline, and webmd all show the new pill type, with no reference to any other shape. Perhaps someone who was been taking it for a number of years noticed a change and can help me answer the question?1) I know that the pharmacy issued me the "right" pill for what they look like now, so researching on the pill identifier sites wasn't a big help. 2) One of you answered "Yes" and I wanted to clarify, this is something you know from experience? Thanks!This medication has been generic for a number of years. I was taking a generic form a few years ago, too. The pill identifier sites do not contain ANY pictures of what I used to take, and include several pictures of the current generic variations, none of which match what I used to take. I'm really just wondering if anyone who has been taking this for a number of years ever noticed a change in pill type from a smaller rectangle blue pill to the current round purple form--a change that may have occurred during the time I wasn't taking it. In fact, the reason I asked is moot now, but it would still be nice to have an answer from someone who actually knows.



Did any manufacturer of zyban/wellbutrin/bupropion SR change the shape of the pill?

I know that the 2 of them have bupropion, but can you use Zyban as antidepressant and Wellbutrin in smoking cessation? We have a patient who uses Wellbutrin as antidepressant but he smokes and he said he has no problems.



What's the difference between Zyban and Wellbutrin?

i was on Wellbutrin about 5 years ago. while taking this medication (i wanted to quit smoking) i fell into a deep depression, and came very close to dying. i attempted suicide by downing a few bottles of valium, and slit my wrists. i was unconscious for a few days before waking in the hospital.a few months later, a friend who was also taking wellbutrin for quitting smoking was successful at suicide.i am just wondering if anyone else had the same experiences, and if you want to share?



experiences you have had on Zyban or Wellbutrin.?

I quit smoking by way of Zyban(aka wellbutrin) and nicotine gum just about a month and 10 days ago. I was smoking about a pack a day for about 12 years. Everything went smoothly up until about week 3 which was about the time when i stopped using the gum and started experiencing mild &, on occassion, sever cases of insomnia. Would this be associated with the withdrawel of nicotine gum? My nicotine gum intake when i first started using it was about 3-4 gums/day and weaning down to 1/day in the last few days or so.



Is it normal to have insomnia when coming off nicotine gum?

I have been prescribed Bupropion Hcl for depression and took one this morning. I now feel pretty miserable - a lot of suicidal thoughts, which hasn't happened in awhile. I know this is a possible side effect of buproprion in patients with depression, but could it be that I'm already feeling it after only one day?



Is it possible to feel (side)effects of Buproprion (aka Wellbutrin/Zyban) on the 1st day?

I'm trying to quit smoking and I did fairly well with Wellbutrin a few years ago but gained weight. I'm thinking about weaning off Effexor (taking one every other day for about a week) and then switching to Zyban. What do you think?I asked my doctor and she was like, "fine", but my counselor told me a few months ago that it's tough to quit effexor.



Can I switch from Effexor to Zyban quickly and safely?

So I'm now on 100MG of wellbutrin and my jaw started clenching as a side effect and it's better now i guess my body adapted but does it relieve anxiety. I know the medicine was made in different forms renamed to zyban to stop smokers cravings. I just have bad anxiety and Celexa didn't work for me at first it did and then it made me think almost psycotic thoughts. Not craazy craazy thoughts but like stuff that people couldn't understand if I explained it to them. So I wanted to know if Wellbutrin does.



Does Wellbutrin take away Anxiety?

I know taking Wellbutrin (Bupropion) near bed time is not such good idea due to insomnia side effect. its my second day taking 150mg in the morning. yesterday I was feeling very sick and I took my morning dose today but I am wondering if anyone tried it justbefore bedtime.at the moment I take 150mg SR in the morning, after a week I will see doctor to increase it to 150mg twice a day (depending to my tolarance) I take it for depression. Its a first time that I am taking any form of anti depressant.



can I take wellbutrin 150 mg SR/Bupropion SR/ Zyban just before going to sleep in night time?

If I don't receive any pleasure from tobacco and alcohol, does this mean that my dopamine levels are very low (or very high)? p.s. i felt ADD symptoms all my life, plus i feel lack of emotions, apathy (not depressed, because i even wish i could cry more) I went to a psychiatrist and he prescribed rexetin (similar to paxil) But it is an ssri, i think it's actually wellbutrin or zyban i need. And please no advises about healthy diet, sport, and good night sleep, cause i've tried it for 2 years. (i've been taking rexetin for 3 days now, and i definitely feel more energized physically, and i know that i should wait at least 2 weeks) I'm 19.



Depression: dopamine or serotonin?

I was on Zyban (same thing) 150mg for seven days, then stepped up to 300mg for two or three days ... I noticed a ringing in my ears (tinnitus) and read the consumer leaflet again and found it to be a rare, but serious side effect to tell your doctor about or go to hospital immediately. Perhaps an exaggeration, but I did stop it the next day. I will be seeing my doctor in less than two weeks; however his opinion may be bias.The problem is ... it's been a couple of days and it hasn't gone away. An incessant ringing in my ears that varies with intensity. Not a problem that I've had before which is an important consideration.Questions are, how (mechanism of action) does is cause this? I also recall feeling a popping sensation in my left ear that night, could this be related or a sign of damage?Why is it considered such a serious side effect? (i.e., they don't list it as a side effect that you can ignore and only tell your doctor about if it becomes bothersome)And finally (I wasn’t warned about this!) but can it possibly be permanent?
