What sleep aid should I take with Wellbutrin?

I want to quit smoking and I don't think I can go cold turkey. I have heard a lot about chantix. Some people seem to have great success and others describe terrible side effects which sound scary. My mother used wellbutrin and has not smoked in 18 months. A friend mentioned something called clonodine, a blood pressure medication used to treat withdrawal symptoms. I am going to Speak to my doctor about this, but I'm curious about other people's experiences.

What are the best drugs for quitting smoking?

I've been on Klonopin, Lamictal and Zoloft for a number of years. Then I was put on Lithium as well. I moved to a new city two years ago, and have been going through the county's mental health system. They are all screwed up there, due to some reform going on, and doctors keeping leaving, with others coming in for a short-term stay. I've seen a different doctor for my last four appointments, and every one has their own opinion about what I should try.At my most recent appointment, two weeks ago, I told the doc my depression was a little worse. He said he thought I'd be better off switching from Lithium to Wellbutrin, and I was fine with that part. What I didn't realize when I was there (because I still had a lot of pills left) was that he hadn't written me a script for my Klonopin refills. I've been taking a hefty dose for anxiety and chronic insomnia, 3mg per day.I called and spoke to his nurse and told her about the ommission two days ago. She said she'd take care of it and call me back, but didn't (by now I've missed three doses). She finally went to speak with him, and told me he wanted to put me back on the Lithium rather than refill my Klonopin! Am I crazier than I thought, or is something wrong here? I told her that couldn't possibly be what he wanted to do. The nurse then got very nasty with me, refused to speak to him again, or to another doctor in the office (my son's) who saw me once when I was in limbo, and knows me well. She says, "Well, he's a DOCTOR. He should know! I'm calling in that Lithium." CLICK.I've been in this mental health game long enough to have been told by every other doctor I've seen that one does not just go off Klonopin cold turkey, and that there are bad withdrawal symptoms (having them now), possibly even seizures. And if I'm not mistaken, Lithium is not even the same class of drug. Should I just go with the flow on this, or try to go higher up in the system and get what I should?

I'm livid! Could this possibly be correct action on my psychiatrist's part?

I spent nearly two months gradually weaning myself of off 15mgs. of Celexa--which I was on for five months-- in order to avoid withdrawal-related complications. However, I experienced anti-depressant withdrawal symptoms-- extreme fatigue, disabling and frequent brain zaps (SCARY!), fluctuating moods and headaches. I slowed down the tappering process in order to lessen the severity of these side effects and went down to about 1mg every two days about two weeks ago before stopping completely. I felt really good for about 1 1/2 weeks and was at the point where I wanted to flush every single antidepressant down the toilet until about four days ago when I began experiencing insomnia, headaches, forgetfulness, and an overall flat mood for no reason. It has been about three weeks since my last crumb of Celexa. Are these symptoms of anti-depressant withdrawal or another depression relapse? What should I do? I really don't want to go back to taking Celexa because it made me unmotivated and exhausted all the time and I've already been on five different trials (Prozac (horrible!), Wellbutrin (ehh no difference), Celexa/Wellbutrin/Ritalin (dormant for two months!), Zoloft (WTF! my head felt like it was filled with air and I had no emotions whatsoever) , and Celexa/Ritalin/Provigil (helped somewhat but made me apathetic toward everything and extrmely tired all the time) with no plans to try another antidepressant. HELP!! Thanks! Thanks so much to everyone for your input and words of wisdom. I have nightmares about being on antidepressant trial no. 25 two years from now, still searching for the "right med," and wondering where I could have been but for my depression and antidepressants. It seems as though the "cure" is another demon only second to the hell of my depression and I'm going to give it everything I have to try to beat this or at least hold out until docs can come up with something better than trial and error. I miss my old self too much to continue taking AD meds. P.S. I don't have ADHD but my doc gave me ritalin hoping it would relieve my celexa-induced fatigue and depression-related concentration issues (which didn't work). Is it weird that he gave me ritalin?

What is the difference between antidepressant withdrawal and depression relapse?

I've just started taking wellbutrin SR to help me quit smoking, and its my second day.Day 1 I felt hazy, forgetful and i had a small burst of anger at the end of the day and to top it all off i was EXTREMELY tired.Today when I took it, I was like.. unnaturally happy and just excited. and then a few hours after that, i got very very tired and now i'm feeling a little depressed. Is it because I dont feel the need to smoke as much? Like I know it blocks whatever in your brain craves nicotine, but does your body still have withdrawal symptoms? what could it be? did anyone else experience anything similar on Wellbutrin?thanks everyone :)

Wellbutrin side effects?

I started taking Wellbutrin 100 mg or bupropion two weeks ago and then after 3 days upped the dose to 200 mg. The medicine worked great the first few days then I started feeling strange and very tired. Stopped the medicine cold turkey and now experiencing weird symptoms like my face is flushed, head feels like it is filled with helium, lips tingling, ears ringing, chest pains, body aches, leg pains, back aches. Just about every part of my body seems affected. Is this normal? Anybody else experienced anything like this? What really stinks is I have to work like this. If it continues, I may have to get a medical release. I have to make to Friday and I hope my symptoms get better before then. Never felt like this before.

What are the normal Wellbutrin withdrawal symptoms?

Took it everyday for 1 and half month and the next two weeks I took it every third day until I stopped. Is it possible to have withdrawal symptoms even if not being on it for such a long time.I was prescribed klonopin and xanax to be taken. Each 0.5 mg three times daily but my anxiety is getting worse because I am worrying about addiction.

Wellbutrin SR withdrawal symptoms possible after 2 months?

please help me! my meds were changed from 300mg Wellbutrin to 150mg and 60mg Cymbalta. This is the first day i've started with cymbalta. Now i am freaking out and i don't know what else to do. My mom ended up giving me two klonopin the help calm me down because it might be an anxiety attack (runs in the family). It's been about 15 min since i took the second one, and i'm still strung up. I can't concentrate when there are a lot of people talking, i'm shaky/twich, i have this feeling of extreme excitement without the happy part (i guess you could say panic...but it doesn't seem like that). i have a headache and my neck, back, and shoulders are tense. i feel so drugged up right now its hard to even type this. i have several minutes when it feels like an out of body experience...(i'm there and i can see everyone but it feels like i'm standing ten feet behind my eyes...if that makes sense. kinda like i'm gonna pass out but there is no ringing ears or sweating like usual.) i keep laughing uncontrolably about nothing! this is so freaking annoying! Is it withdrawal symptoms from lowering Wellbutrin, is it starting Cymbalta straight off at 60mg, is it an anxiety attack, or could it possibly be a manic/hypomania episode? (There is some bipolar in my family) My mom's calling my psychiatrist tomorrow, but what do i do right now.?0.o```~~~whoa, now i feel loopyany suggestions on what i can do until tomorrow? Thank you all in advance
