I think I'm having really bad side effects to Wellbutrin (generic) XL...muscle jitters, jerks, leg pains, etc.

I've recently switched from name brand Wellbutrin XL to the generic Budurpion XL for the second time. The first time I was taking 300mg, and when I switched to generic 300mg i noticed major mood swings especially at night. So I switched back to name brand, but I noticed the side effects were too much...so the doc changed dosage to 150 mg. I was flying high and doing great, when suddenly they came out with generic 150mg and I had to switch for insurance purposes....and of course, it's Budurpion. Well, one week on it and i'm going crazy already. My question is, has anyone had the same thing happen to them with the SR? I noticed that the generic for SR was Bupriopion, not Budurpion, is there a difference between the two generics?



Is generic Wellbutrin SR better that generic Wellbutrin XL?

I took the generic budeprion for two weeks but had to stop because of abdominal pain. I was then switched to the name brand Wellbutrin XL and i'm about two weeks into that and the same side effect is occuring i was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.



Has anyone else experienced severe abdominal pain while on Wellbutrin XL?

PLEASE READ: Please, only people who have actually taken these products, and ONLY people who want to help. None of those who just want to say something sarcastic or negative.Ok... I went into a heavy depression after moving from California to Illinois with my husband and daughter. I had been on Prozac for about 5 months after the birth of my daughter for postpartum... and stopped.After living in Illinois, I was at my lowest, and packed on 15 lbs in two months.. which made my depression worse. I started seeing a therapist who recommended Wellbutrin XL.GODSEND. Wellbutrin XL worked GREAT for me. I had energy, was positive and even lost a little weight without the weird loopy side effects I had with prozac.NOW, the issue... I was given the generic Budeprion XL two weeks ago... and am now back to being loopy, lethargic, and can feel the weight creeping back in... NOT TO MENTION the HORRIBLE nightmares I now have.Anyone else have this happen?I, MYSELF, did NOT switch. I originally started on Wellbutrin XL last month and loved it.... but it cost me $140 I guess because my deductible hadnt been met yet.When I went to fill the prescription again, the lady at the pharmacy didnt even tell me she switched... i had only noticed that my fee went down significantly, and it still said Wellbutrin on the outside of the package... NOT on the bottle lol....I'm going to request the name brand when I fill it again obviously.. even it is going to be pricier... I merely wanted to hear of other people's experience with this same issue.. and what problems they have possible had in this situation.And whomever is leaving negatives to everyone so far, NOT COOL. Everyone's opinion counts!All I can add is WOW. I TRULY appreciate all of everyone's feedback! My own attempts at learning about these drugs alone could not have educated me like all of you.And yes, pretty much all of those side effects you've all listed are what I'm going through....Funny thing too.... The ACTUAL Wellbutrin XL that I began on killed my cravings for alcohol and certain foods... and now.. being on the generic only about 3 weeks.. I'm wanting to drink more than ever... I'm really depressed again, and I'm having horrible thoughts.. which I NEVER did before.I urgently called my doc and told him the situation and he put in a new refill for my regular wellbutrin right away...... I suppose, because of these reasons, generics are SO cheap? hmm... $140 versus $10.Thanks again to you all so much!! Switched to Wellbutrin XL versus Generic Budeprion XL, thoughts?

I took Wellbutrin XL about 2 years ago, and was feeling great, dropping weight, and had really no adverse side effects. I got off it a while cause I couldn't afford it. Then the generic Buderpion comes out, so I go on that. I gained weight on that, and it didn't really work. In the meantime, I started taking cranberry suppliments, a one a day mulitivitamin, ginger root, and green tea suppliments to counter the bad side effects from the generic. Now I'm still taking suppliments, but I'm back on the name brand wellbutrin XL, but it's cuaseing me side effects that I didn't have before. It's cuased my period to be late (a blood test showed I wasn't prego) constipation, and gas (only late at night), and i haven't seemed to loose a pound yet. My question is this, Are these side different side effects (that were never there before when i took it 2 years ago) from combining Wellbutrin with the herbal supps, or am I still getting rid of the generic in my system? It's been 3 weeks.



Are my herbal supplements creating different side effects while taking Wellbutrin XL?
