Weaning off Wellbutrin and MAD :(?

I would like to stop taking this medication but I am not sure how to wean off this drug?????



I am currently taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg once a day...?

I'm 35 y/o and had 12 courses of ECT 8 years ago. I don't do drugs and I drink only on occasion. PMHx: Seizures X 3 (remote ~ >6y ago), otherwise healthy.Here's what I take for depression and anxiety:Wellbutrin XL 150 mg q amProzac 20 mg q amClonazepam 0.5 mg: 3 q am, 4 prn and 3 @ hs (5 mg daily)Lyrica 75 mg q hs (for anxiety + depression)Pramipexole 0.50 mg q hs (for SSRI-related sexual side effects)Seroquel 75 mg q hs (for insomnia)I want to quit taking so many drugs -- women run when I tell them ... they're expensive and I've suffered withdrawal from clonazepam twice (*awful* experience from missing 2 days)How best should I go about weaning off that much clonazepam?Please answer only if you know. I'm a busy professional with a stressful job with a lot of responsibilities.

Cutting down clonazepam?

i'm about to be weaned off wellbutrin xl which i have been on for about a year and a half. has anybody done this? any advice?



anyone have any experiences with coming off wellbutrin?

I have been taking wellbutrin xl for the past 3 months and have found it hasn't been helping much... still have anxiety and get upset easily. I asked my doc to switch me to celexa b/c i was on that before and it seemed to help. He told me to switch cold-turkey, stop taking the wellbutrin and start the celexa. I know he is a good doctor but i thought a person should be weaned off their medication and slowly introduced to the new one? Am i wrong?

What is the proper way to wean off of Wellbutrin XL 150mg?

My son, age 20, is home from college and is noticeably unmotivated, unfocused and unhappy with himself. He goes through the motions of living day to day, but has no passion or direction in his life. He was weaned off Effexor XL last year and did fairly well in school; lost the weight he had put on and seemed, we thought, to be doing well. He has always had a problem with focusing; but now he seems to have more of an issue with what he calls being "self-conscious". To the point that he is avoiding situations that take him out of his comfort zone. My psychiatrist suggested Wellbutrin. I've seen other posts where people mentioned a combination of a stimulant (Adderall) with Wellbutrin. Any ideas?



Does anyone have experience using Wellbutrin for Depression/ADD?

I ran out of wellbutrin xl pills, and i don't have a doctor right now. So what are the effects of not weaning off this medication?? Should i be concerned?? thanks.



Plz help...wellbutrin xl question?

I am using effexor 300mg/day and wellbutrin xl 150mg/day. I stopped cold turkey about 3 days ago and haden't really had any real side effects except last night i had pretty bad night sweats. After drinking some coffee and eating breakfast i feel fine now and had a MUCH easier time waking up the last few days. Luckily nothing too stressful had grabbed ahold of me so far, but knowing i can get up easier to ease the stress on my wife/baby is very motivating. Just curious why stopping Klonopin might help my thoughts move along a bit better? Has anyone else weaned from a benzo class drug such as this and have any advise? My doctor told me that if i were to wean off of 2mg klonopin/day I might be able to think more clearly?

I have been on 40 mg of Prozac for 7 years and wellbutrin 300 sr or xl whichever for 4 years. I recently weaned myself off of both of them very hesitantly and have started cymbalta and topamax and have been pleasantly suprised at how good I feel --tons better not to mention I have lost weight. Has anyone experienced a similar effect?
