For people who have taken Wellbutrin XL, have you experienced your ears ringing as a side effect?

I was on Zyban (same thing) 150mg for seven days, then stepped up to 300mg for two or three days ... I noticed a ringing in my ears (tinnitus) and read the consumer leaflet again and found it to be a rare, but serious side effect to tell your doctor about or go to hospital immediately. Perhaps an exaggeration, but I did stop it the next day. I will be seeing my doctor in less than two weeks; however his opinion may be bias. The problem is ... it's been a couple of days and it hasn't gone away. An incessant ringing in my ears that varies with intensity. Not a problem that I've had before which is an important consideration.Questions are, how (mechanism of action) does is cause this? I also recall feeling a popping sensation in my left ear that night, could this be related or a sign of damage? Why is it considered such a serious side effect? (i.e., they don't list it as a side effect that you can ignore and only tell your doctor about if it becomes bothersome)And finally (I wasn’t warned about this!) but can it possibly be permanent?

What side effects have you had with the drug wellbutrin XL?

Ok, recently I've been experiencing some anxiety, rapid heart beat etc. which I thought was really weird considering that my doctor just put me on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg about 2 months ago and it seems that it's only gotten worse since then. I looked on the wellbutirn website and these side effects were listed....weight loss, loss of appetite, dry mouth, skin rash, sweating, ringing in the ears, shakiness, stomach pain, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, trouble sleeping, muscle pain, nausea, fast heartbeat, sore throat, and urinating more often and I have had pretty much every one of those symptoms other than weight loss and skin rash. I am well aware that I need to talk with my doctor but obviously I can't do that until Monday. I'm scared not to take the medicine because the last time I went a day without it, I felt like my heart was just going to come out of my chest until I took it, my pharmacist said you aren't supposed to just stop taking it. So bascially I'm just wondering what I ....should do until I can talk to my doctor on Monday and has anyone else had this problem with Wellbutrin? What have you taken that actually worked for you? Thanks! You know that makes so much sense! I haven't had any seizures but had read that it could cause them...but you mentioned that about the caffeine and Thursday night I had a caramel frappucinno from Starbucks and that was the first caffeine I have had in like 5 months and my symptoms have been so much worse since then! I am definitely not going to take it anymore and will be making a dr. appt first thing monday morning. I have some xanax and I decided that I would just take one of those instead of my wellbutrin tonight and I already am feeling so much more calm, my heart isn't beating anywhere near as fast and I only took it about an hour ago. My doctor is definitely going to have to figure something else out for me.I'm not self medicating, I was prescribed the xanax for panic attacks. And like I said the starbucks that I had thursday night was the first caffeine I have had in 5 months! I rarely ever drink caffeine and usually avoid it at all costs, that's not a problem for me.

Wellbutrin (150mg) side effects, when are they going away?

I started Wellbutrin about a week ago at 300mg (3x a day at 100mg) and at first, I didn't really feel much except a little nausea and I was a bit shaky..I wasn't really concerned. A couple days ago I thought I had a head cold coming on because my boyfriend was sick and I was starting to feel a lot of nasal pressure. Then when he was driving me back to school, my ears started to hurt, really bad. The pressure inside my head was INTENSE and I couldn't bear it. And then came the ringing.. I was so scared and I started crying because I was in so much pain. Every sound made the ringing worse. A warm feeling went down my chest. And everytime I swallow, my ears want to pop, but they won't, and it's starting to hurt my jaw. The ringing was probably the worst though.Has anyone else experienced the popping of the ears or sore jaw? It's been two days and I feel back to normal except for the popping. Any thoughts please would be great!

Has anyone else experienced serious side effects while using Wellbutrin?

I've been taking wellbutrin for about at week now and I'm up to 300mg a day. I haven't had too many bad side effects except lack of sleep, ringing in the ears, and also my scalp is really tingly in one spot. It comes and goes throughout the day but it hasn't gone away for very long. I was just wondering if anyone knows what is going on cause it is really annoying!!!

about going off meds! help me!!!?

I have only been taking wellbutrin for about a week. I have a constant ringing in my ears. I can deal with it if it goes away, but will it? Has the ringing stopped for anyone else? How long did you have it? I take 150 SR twice a day. I used to take 150 xl twice a day and I never had any ringing. On the wellbutrin website it says that ringing is a side effect from the XL ( which I never experienced ) and did not have ringing associated with SR ( which I am taking now). Please tell me what you have experienced with this drug.

Does anyone else get a ringing in their ears after taking wellbutrin?

I am taking 200mg of Wellbutrin SR twice a day.I have considerable ringing in my ears which is very anoying.I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this.I took Wellbutrin in the past at 150mg 3Xday and never noticed ringing in the ears.
