1. Eliminate raw fruits and vegetables for a while, and instead, drink fresh vegetable juices and eat lower-fiber foods such as peeled fruits, bananas,

and avocados.

2. Avoid foods that are known to cause gas, like bananas, milk, cucumbers, beans, peas, and vegetables in the cabbage family (broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts).

3. Use activated charcoal capsules. When used in moderation, charcoal is very effective in eliminating gas, but excessive use can deplete essential minerals from your system.

Herbal remedies would be best for this condition, a high-fiber diet is not necessarily recommended, especially if the source of fiber is whole grain. In cases of colitis, the roughage is poorly digested and can cause fermentation in the bowels, resulting in gas and bowel irritation.
