Hypnotherapy or Behavioral Therapy for depression?

I know this is LONG, but if you know anything about headaches (professionally), espcially MD/experts/specialists PLEASE read. For the past 10 years, I have been battling progressively worsening migraines/tension headaches. (I can pretty much take care of the tensions with TENS unit, heat and regular massages) but the migraines occur 3-5+ times per week and are debilitating. I have been on 78 different medications- preventatives, abortives, narcotics, psychiatric meds as well pure oxygen), pretty much everything that is traditionally used to treat migraines and then some. I've stopped smoking, drinking alcohol, stabilized caffeine at 200mg/day consistently and worked on nutrition/exercise. I am still in pain every day. I have had MRIs, CT scans, bloodwork inc. TSH, seen 3 different neurologists, a headache specialist, 4 different psychiatrists (the first neuro referred me after nothing he tried worked), an ENT and an eye doctor. Perfect sinuses. 20/20 vision. Nothing is pathologically wrong. I've had 2 facet blocks and an occipital nerve block, physical therapy. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I am 23 years old and no doctor wants to treat chronic intractable migraines in someone that young. I suppose I appear like a drug seeker, but I'm truly not. I'm in nursing school and just want to finish, get my MPH and work in public health. I also have severe social anxiety, severe insomnia and depression (in the past) and have finally found a psychiatrist who has me on the right combination of meds for that (Lexapro, Ativan, Ambien and Seroquel). I cringe at the thought of going to another neurologist since they like to dabble in psych meds (which I understand is necessary), but they usually end up adding something that throws off the combination I've finally achieved to control my anxiety and depression. For instance, Keppra made me suicidal and Zonegran made me have multiple panic attacks which my psychiatrist had to intervene and add ridiculously high dosages of even more benzos so I could just go to school and work.I'm honestly just tired inside and ready to give up. I understand narcotics are not routinely used to treat migraines, but are there special exceptions, because the ONLY medications that work (other than Midrin) are Nubain, Stadol, and hydrocodone. Demerol doesn't work. Ultram, pentazocine, codeine, Darvocet, oxycodone, none of these work, so as you can see, I'm not looking to get high or I'd be fine with Demerol and Percocets. Truly, the most effective is Nubain. ALL it does is stop the headache. No "high"- I can still function. Sedation isn't a problem as my body chemistry seems to react opposite to what will usually "knock someone else out" (for example, I am on 6mg Ativan + up to 30mg Tranxene PRN to control anxiety and it doesn't make me the least bit sleepy). I am fully capable of giving myself IM injections as it only comes parenterally. I know it is not exactly desirible, but my quality life is at ZERO and I would rather give myself frequent injections than live like this. Nubain has a ceiling effect, antagonistic properties, is less habit-forming than the pure mu agonists, will antagonize other narcotics, and is not scheduled by the DEA (no scrutiny). What are the chances of having this prescribed for home use. I am already forced to go sit in waiting rooms IN AGONIZING pain 2-4 times a week for something I can easily do myself.Meds I've been on for headaches or as an off-shoot psychiatrist-prescribed related TO the primary problem of headaches (and it's a long list): virtually every OTC, Zoloft, Elavil, Imitrex, Maxalt, Zomig, Amerge, Frova, Relpax, Axert, Pamelor, Neurontin, Migranal, Melatonin, Lithium, Keppra, Inderal, Indocin, Cataflam with Reglan, Namenda, Esgic, Lithium, Pristiq, Mobic, Zonegran, Toradol, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Abilify, Trazodone, Buspar, Geodon, Zyprexa, Topamax, Depakote, Verapamil, PURE O2 @12 L, Esgic, Toradol, Ultram, Magnesium, Celebrex, Vioxx, dicflocenac, Lidocaine (intranasally), Vistaril, Haldol, Solu-medrol, Lexapro, Midrin, Naprosyn, Seroquel, Ativan, Restoril, Ambien, Rozerem, Lunesta, Sonata, Valium, Klonopin, Tranxene + NARCOTICS (as "rescue meds") - Nubain, Stadol NS, Pentazocine (Talacen), Lortab, Intravenous Demerol, Darvocet, Percocet, and Tylenol #3.I realize I've been medicated to the point that I don't really know what is doing what. I know I need the Lexapro/Ativan. I'm trying to get back to natural sleep, cutting back the dosage of sleep Ambien/Seroquel for sleep (ironically neither works alone, but they work great together). So, just to be frank, I really don't want medications suggested (I'd be open to it, of course, but very wary). I know what works and what doesn't. And if it's something I haven't tried and is related, that is if it is anticonvulsant, antidepressant, etc. I'm just not interested. I think I've been a good sport in giving those a chance, and I'm done playing the guinea pig. I know it's trial-and-error but it

Need help from expert on chronic headaches?

I seem to never be able to be fully rested. I've been dealing with this for years, and since the beginning of school this fall, it's getting even worse. I am now falling asleep during class, nodding off while driving, and unable to focus on my homework. I have tried varying the amount of hours I sleep. I have tried everything from 6-13 hours and I am still exhausted during the day. My dad says it is due to the pills I am taking. I am taking 150 mg of Zoloft, 300 mg of Wellbutrin, a prescribed vitamin D pill (given to me after I first complained of being tired) and microgestin. However, I've been taking this combination for almost a year now, and I don't see why it would just now be effecting me so drastically. Is there someone who has any suggestions?I'm on Zoloft for general depression and anxiety because it helped my mom when she had problems, and Wellbutrin for seasonal depression. I have been trying to exercise for about an hour three times a week.

Why am I always so tired?

I've been on 100mg of Zoloft since March for depression and anxiety problems. I thought it's been helping me and I've noticed a difference. I'm a lot more calm and relaxed before the medications. But now I feel like I have no energy at all. It wasn't like this when I first started the Zoloft. I'm really dragging by the end of the day. I at least try not to go to bed before dark, lol. Also, my depression seems to be worsening the less energy I have. I didn't feel like I was being "drugged" before. Now I do. I'm going to see both my therapist and psychiatrist next week. At my last medication check she asked me if I wanted to try a different combination of medications. I said no because I felt like the Zoloft was helping. Not so much anymore. I've heard Wellbutrin tends to have an energizing affect. I'm thinking about asking her if I can try some sort of Wellbutrin/Zoloft combo. I heard from someone else that those two medications worked well together when they took that combo. Do you know anything about the Wellbutrin/Zoloft combo? Thanks!

Wellbutrin/Zoloft combo?

I'm on Zoloft for depression and anxiety. It's helped my anxiety, but my depression has worsened. Since I don't spend as much time worrying about things, it's like all my attention is directed to how miserable I am. When that happens it seems like I have no energy and I just want to sit around and sulk. Is this normal? I have a psychiatry appointment soon. Should I ask for some sort of combination like Zoloft and Wellbutrin? Thanks for the suggestions.

Anxiety's better but my depression is getting worse?

Hi there. First, before I say anything, I just want to let everyone know I'm not suicidal. I'm a writer, and my character, unfortunately for her, is. What I need to know is this:Will a large combonation of zoloft, trileptal, trazidone, wellbutrin and ib profin kill somebody? And do you reckon she would fall asleep seeing as how trazidone is a sleeping pill? Thanks SO much. I've researched this everywhere else, but no where has the exact combo I need.Sam

Will A Combination of These Drugs Kill? Research.?

I am 19 years old and making a doctor's appointment asap to talk to him about depression and anxiety. I have been depressed before, and took zoloft. It helped a bit, though i did gain some weight, which made me feel horrible. Eventually I stopped taking it, as I felt better. This was a few years ago. Now, my depression is much worse. Most days i dont even want to get out of bed, the longer i can stay in bed the shorter my day will be so i just try to sleep through the day. I have little social interaction with anyone anymore, and really have no desire to, yet i am miserable. I feel i have nothing to look forward to and have thought about, but never seriously considered suicide. However, I dont want to get worse. I was wondering what medications, or even a combination of two(one for depression and one for anxiety) that WILL NOT CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN. that would just make me more depressed...I have heard Wellbutrin is good for not gaining weight, but that it only treats depression. What are some good anxiety medications that i can talk to my doctor about? thanks i am around people all the time, as im a college student. i simply dont have the desire to socialize, so any medications that would help with this would be greatlol i also exercise..idk what else to do. i eat well too

anxiety, depression..please help me?

Okay, here's my story. I am 28F. I have a very good job, climbing the corporate ladder in an industry that is male dominated. I hold my own and have done well for myself. But I hate every minute of it. I have gone into a deep depression and have been here for about year. It's hard for me to get up in the mornings. I have days that are okay and I can accomplish and be productive, but most days I sit in my office and do nothing. People are beginning to notice. I have my own house, car, and lots of family and friends. I have been seeing a therapist for the past year and I still have these feelings of hopelessness and suicide. I've tried lexapro, paxil, paxil CT, zoloft, wellbutrin and a combination of things. Nothing seems to work. So I have decided to quit my job, sell my house, and move in with my parents until I can function like a normal person. I've made arrangements to get therapy, medicines, and work part time to pay for the essentials. But I feel like I'm crazy for giving all this up. Most people would kill for this job and the things I have. My mom has been part of my stress, she doesn't have boundaries. So that is also concerning to me. I am also concerned what the rest of my family will think when I move back home. Why do I care what the think?

What will everyone think?

My sister takes 300 mg wellbutrin xl and wants to 50mg zoloft to the wellbutrin. Has anyone ever done this?

Wellbutrin & Zoloft Combination

I have severe, medication resistant depression. I have tried tricyclics, ssri's, maoi's, atypicals and even ECT. My doctor prescribed Concerta yesterday. I am supposed to take 27mg in combination with 200mg of zoloft and 150 of wellbutrin xl. I do not have add or adhd, and he is prescribing it to help the depression. Has anyone ever heard of using concerta, ritalin, or other CNS drugs for depression? Anyone have experience taking this drug for depression without add/adhd? DId it help?

Concerta for Depression?

I was wondering if anybody has taken Wellbutrin and Zoloft together with good results. I have major recurrent depression and my doctor just added zoloft to my wellbutrin. I don't have a problem with taking the combination, I was just curious if anybody else had success with both of them? Thanks for your answers.
