Is anyone taking wellbutrin with an SSRI like prozac or like cymbalta/effexor xr?

I'm 35 y/o and had 12 courses of ECT 8 years ago. I don't do drugs and I drink only on occasion. PMHx: Seizures X 3 (remote ~ >6y ago), otherwise healthy.Here's what I take for depression and anxiety:Wellbutrin XL 150 mg q amProzac 20 mg q amClonazepam 0.5 mg: 3 q am, 4 prn and 3 @ hs (5 mg daily)Lyrica 75 mg q hs (for anxiety + depression)Pramipexole 0.50 mg q hs (for SSRI-related sexual side effects)Seroquel 75 mg q hs (for insomnia)I want to quit taking so many drugs -- women run when I tell them ... they're expensive and I've suffered withdrawal from clonazepam twice (*awful* experience from missing 2 days)How best should I go about weaning off that much clonazepam?Please answer only if you know. I'm a busy professional with a stressful job with a lot of responsibilities.



How should I taper clonazepam?

I am tapering off of Klonopin( clonzapam),1mg, was taking it at night, a long, long time. Last week, I came down with a virus or flu, but still went ahead with cutting the klonopin in half, at night, while my doc added Gapapentin( Neurontin) 300mg, one at night, ( to cover the withdrawal) and help with anxiety, and also percribed Wellbutrin XL 150mg-once a day.Sick as a dog, I tapered and began to take the new two meds, I have had a horrible headache yesterday, a stiff neck, and difficulty swallowing, for a few days, insomnia, and today, I woke up this morning with a bad stomach ache. What the heck it this, I know I have been stuffy and sneezy, aches and pains, but I am okay, so I really suspect it is either the withdrawal or one of the new meds, can anyone give me any idea? I dont want to call the dr if this is just withdrawal, or a common symptom(s) of Wellbutrin, or Neurontin.sadiemay, side effects or withdrawal?Wich one, and on what drug?

Just recently I stopped taking opiates and started taking a medication called suboxone to alleviate the withdrawl and craving symptoms. This medication has worked great but I am mentally in the dumps. I was using opiates for about 3 years. I felt depressed before taking the opiates and when I took them I felt awesome. Euphoric. After stopping though I realized that I am very depressed. Even worse then before. Not suicidal or anything just helpless and always expect the worse. Part of using that long is that seratonin and or dopamine is now not being made naturally in your system. When you stop using you get super depressed because of a lack of both. I would like to find out from anyone in here that may have gone thru something similar or just has had a great experience with a certain med working for them what it was and how it helped them. I took Wellbutrin XL for 7 days. I could not sleep. I felt nothing from it because I stopped taking it because of the insomnia. ThxHey Guys,Thanks for all of the good info. I do understand that everyone is different and what may work for some does not for others. I just wanted to see what the consensus was. Gimp, I wish you the best man. As for my plan, I am going to spend the next 6 weeks working out and eating right as a start then try to start weening off of the suboxone if possible. During that time I want to start an antidepressant. Someone was talking about fish oil? That seems a bit weird but it's something to look at I guess. The only things I hate about the anti depressants are you usually gain weight from what I hear and your sex drive goes down. Screw that. Also you cannot drink on them at all? That's crazy. I was prescribed ambien cr 12.5 mg about three days ago for insomnia, so far it is helping, I am a little tired throughout the day, but no where as bad as before. 4 days ago I had been awake for 40 (fourty) hours. The last three days the ambien has helped me get some rest. Today, when I went to see my Psych Nurse, she prescibed me Wellbutrin XL 150mg to start tomorrow and told me to continue to take the Ambien CR, in fact wrote me a prescription for another 30 days. I really don't want to take any pills at all. But I am concerned not only of side effects, but interactions. **Anyone hear of any problems taking ambien cr at night and wellbutrin xl in the morning**. I have started to feel a little better since starting the ambien, due to sleep of course. I actually know I am depressed from not enough sleep and worry of taking these pills. My goal is to get off all meds...but I am hesitant to even start another, I have thought about just the ambien for a few more days .. ?? :o(

Wellbutrin XL & Ambien CR?

She attempted suicide and lived, but has many serious injuries that are going to require a lot of intensive physical therapy and probably many more surgeries. Before the suicide attempt she was on Wellbutrin XL and was having severe insomnia so her doctor took her off of it. Two weeks later she tried killing herself. Now the doctor has put her back on it and all she does is cry. She won't communicate with anyone and she is still wanting to die. Can anyone with any knowledge please offer any advice?

I've been on Wellbutrin XL for two weeks now for depression. The insomia started to get worse about a week into taking it. At first, I really didn't mind cause I had problems with sleep before I started taking it, but now it's just unbearable. Before I starting taking Wellbutrin, there were at most two/three nights a week where I had trouble falling asleep and wake up feeling even more tired. Since last week, I've been having problems falling asleep AND staying asleep and it has gradually gotten worse every night. I wouldn't mind the trouble of having difficulty to fall asleep and stay asleep, as long as I get some sleep in... but I haven't gotten any sleep AT ALL for the past two days! And the days before that, I probably had 3-5 hours of sleep a night.I'd lay in bed right now, but it's no use... I can't fall asleep even though I want to and I'll just end up tossing around in bed anyhow.Should I contact my doctor about this or wait a few days to see if it goes away?



Severe insomnia. How long should I wait to contact doctor?

I started taking Wellbutrin XL a little over two weeks ago. I started on 150mg and 4 days ago increased that dosage to 300mg. I felt better quickly after starting the medication and had 2 low days before I increased the dosage. The past two days I have been really depressed. Is this normal? Will it get better or should I talk to my doctor about another medication? Also, I have had insomnia for 2 months - I guess a result of anxiety and depression. Wellbutrin XL - How long does it take to start working and what can I expect in the meantime?

I started on Cymbalta yesterday 30mg. My doctor said he will up my dose next week to 60mg if I tolerate the pill well. I have not had any nauesa yet but it may be to soon. I was up all night last night with insomnia and was exhausted today though.I really researched and wanted Wellbutrin XL for the depression and because of the weight loos I keep hearing everyone talk about. I need to loose about 20lbs and my weight is a part of my depression. Has anyone switched from Cymbalta to wellbutrin and did it help/work for you???

I took Wellbutrin several years ago. Worked for depression, didn't bother my sleep. Haven't been on any antidepressants for over a year (different one stopped December 2005). Started on Wellburtirn XL last week and cannot sleep! Should I switch to the SR? Doctor offered it, but thought the convenience of once a day dosing would help. Any thoughts?
