Please help, im desperate.?

I have tried numerous medications in the past and all but wellbutrin XL eliminated my sex drive. However, I was diagnosed with a panic disorder two years ago and wellbutrin XL has no effect on my anxiety. So for these past two years, I have been on zoloft and have lived without a sex drive. This is really hurting my marriage and I fear my husband will eventually get sick of it. Has anyone else gone through something similar and found a way to bring back the sex drive without sacrificing ones sanity? I tried tapering but my anxiety peaked after lowering the dose just a little bit. I really need help!

Side effect: No sex drive?

I have seasonal affective disorder. My doctor and psychologist both agreed that I needed anti-depressants (wellbutrin XL 300MG) and weekly intense therapy sessions. Plus the light box therapy. Basically I needed the whole nine yards because my S.A.D. REALLY got out of hand this winter. However, my family tried to talk me against these treatments stating that its all in my mind. If they only knew how I felt I think they would think otherwise. The only person who understands my decision about this is my current boyfriend. He suffers from major depression and takes zoloft and therapy sessions. So guess that's why.Oh no hunny, me exhibiting S.A.D. symptons has been going waaaaaaaaaaay before I even met my boyfriend. i.e. 10 years.

Why are some people so against anti-depressants and therapy?

I haven't told my siblings about this because they made it perfectly clear that they do not think highly of people who take anti-depressants and seek therapy.

Ok here's the deal:I went on Zoloft at the beginning of September to help with freshmen year college anxiety. It worked wonders for my social anxiety, but it did lead to a 15+ pound weight gain. This weight gain was NOT the "freshmen 15." I am extremely obsessive about my weight and refuse to eat the junk they serve here. I don't eat any meat besides fish, and my biggest meal of the day consists of tuna on salad with a lot of veggies and low fat balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I went to my doctor with my concerns and she said that the Zoloft probably messed with my metabolism. So she put me on Wellbutrin XL (generic). I have been on 300 mg for about four weeks now. Despite exercising for an hour each day and eating healthily, I feel as though I have lost absolutely nothing. I am scared to weigh myself because whenever I do now, I go into another fit of depression! I do not have the appetite suppressant feeling that a lot of people talk about on Wellbutrin. I do however feel as though I am extremely alert and focused and get a lot more done in the day, which is probably a good sign of my metabolism returning to normal?I have also been suffering from a compulsive "eating disorder not otherwise specified," chew & spit for about a year and a half. If you don't know, it's exactly what it sounds like, when I am stressed or sad I will chew a bunch of sweets or forbidden foods up and then spit them out. Gross I know. I have read that doing this can raise insulin levels and make it very difficult to lose weight (although I actually lost weight when I wasn't on any anti-depressants). Since being on Wellbutrin I have been able to start weening off of this disgusting behavior, but do still mess up sometimes. My question is, if I fully quit this eating disorder behavior, continue to diet and exercise, but still take Wellbutrin (I feel like it's helping), will I eventually be able to lose this weight? I feel like I should have seen results by now, but maybe I have to be more patient...I have heard that Wellbutrin is not supposed to cause weight GAIN but will it actually allow me to LOSE if I keep working at it? I couldn't lose on Zoloft no matter how hard I tried. Thanks for any answers.

Wellbutrin XL weight loss/eating disorder?

These symptoms have been ruining my life and preventing me from living normally so please real answers only.Years of fatigue, excessive hunger, and anxietyThese symptoms have been ruining my life and preventing me from living normally so please real answers only. For two years now I have been suffering from the following symptoms. Extreme fatigue, anxiety, excessive hunger this all began when I was about 4 months pregnant with my second child. Before that I was not tired during the day or needed a nap. I was able to control my appetite and my weight. And I was not anxious all the time and did not have a problem with anger and irritability or depression. But ever since after I gave birth and seen a doctor for the symptoms that seemed quite normal during pregnancy turned into something that looked like depression and I was diagnosed with clinical depression. The following is the medication that I have been given and used to help me with the symptoms of that time maybe some depression feelings where there: Zoloft, lexapro and wellbutrin XL I was also told I have underactive thyroid and an inflamed thyroid and took Synthyroid for 4 months (side effects from Synthyroid excessive sweating, a bit less hungry) other symptoms where still there so then I saw an endocrinologist who tested for insulin, testosterone levels and THS and said everything looks good its not a thyroid problem or insulin but the testosterone was borderline / high which he said for women my age 26 would be at around 25-50 I was at 76. So then put me the birth control yasmin to help bring it down. It has not helped with any of my symptoms. I am still very tired all the time and need to take naps during the day I am always hungry and still really irritable and moody. I am a stay at home mom so I do not have the lack of sleep from over working and I do not eat because I am bored I actually feel hungry most of the time. All these symptoms have not been a problem anytime in my teenage years and young adult life until the point of my second pregnancy. I am thinking but I am not sure I am not a doctor. that a big possibility for all the other symptoms is the cause from the fatigue and then I eat to trying to give my body sugar to keep going. Which causes me to get moody irritable then anxious and maybe even a bit of depression because of the weight gain and crash dieting. Is there anybody who has had these problems and figured out the cause of the problem and been treaded correctly? I just want to get well, be normal, strong and not tired I do not want to feel so helpless and have this uncontrolled hunger anymore. Please anyone with any suggestions or maybe has seen somebody with these problems what did they do to get better?Thank you very much for all your help.Sorry for the long writing i just did not want to miss anything that could be the difference between the solution and the underling problem.

Years of fatigue, excessive hunger, and anxiety anyone else with this problem?

My husband says a doctor told him that he was manic depressive when he was a teenager (he is 32 now). I will admit he tends to be "down in the dumps" quite often. However, there are no euphoric episodes. (He kind of reminds me of Eeyore off Winnie the Pooh). He has been on various meds that didn't work. He said Effexor did work...but, I hate for him to get on that as it is extremely difficult to get off of. He has tried Zoloft, Depakote (which seemed to make him more depressed). He is now on Wellbutrin XL....he is starting 450 mg. today...upping the dose from 300. What do you think? Does it sound like manic or something else? He has been this way since he was a teenager....otherwise very level headed...no big mood swings just consitently (and extremely) bummed out. I am curious what others may think about this.

Manic depressive disorder misdiagnosed? No euphoric episodes.?

My sister takes 300 mg wellbutrin xl and wants to 50mg zoloft to the wellbutrin. Has anyone ever done this?

Wellbutrin & Zoloft Combination

My husband was on Zoloft and it destroyed his sex drive. He switched to Wellbutrin XL and has been on it for about a month. Still, sex drive very low, not like him. Any ideas? Please tell me this will get back to normal and is not permanent. We did tell his dr. and that is why he switched him to Wellbutrin as it is not supposed to have those side effects.

Can you restore sex drive after anti-depressants?

My husband quit taking Zoloft on a Sun. and started Wellbutrin that Thurs. (150 mg) It's been 1 1/2 wks. so far...how long until it's supposed to kick in? I know this is a low dose....at what point could we ask them to raise it if needed? Just not sure how long it will take to help him feel better. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!Of course he did it under Dr.'s orders...a GP and a neurologist. ?? Can you just go buy these things on the street? Maybe I'm naive. ?

My husband recently switched from Zoloft to Wellbutrin XL, how long until he feels better?

I have severe, medication resistant depression. I have tried tricyclics, ssri's, maoi's, atypicals and even ECT. My doctor prescribed Concerta yesterday. I am supposed to take 27mg in combination with 200mg of zoloft and 150 of wellbutrin xl. I do not have add or adhd, and he is prescribing it to help the depression. Has anyone ever heard of using concerta, ritalin, or other CNS drugs for depression? Anyone have experience taking this drug for depression without add/adhd? DId it help?
