Does Wellbutrin SR work the same as Wellbutrin XL?

episodes off and on where your at that all time low again, or does the medicine keep you above it all of the time? And if it does keep you above it, what are you taking?I've been on Wellbutrin SR, 150mg, twice a day plus Amtripilene. Some days I'm ok, not great, and then other days, I feel like I'm sunk all over again. Thing is, I'm tired of trying to live like this, and on top of it all there's alot of immediate family things going on with no positive outlook on any of it...there isn't any.Do you have days in between where you feel like you did before ever seeing the doctor to begin with, but on medication at the same time? I'm just wondering if these "serious lows" are normal or not with being on medicine that does help for the better part of the time?

This is to everybody that's on depression medicine from a doctor. Do you still have those?

i currently take wellbutrin sr in the morning for what started as post partum depression and turned into a severe depression it even more severe anxiety. My doctor doesn't want me taking xanax anymore for fear of me getting dependent. Has anyone tried St john's wort along with Wellbutrin sr? i will not start anything w/out talking to my doc first, just curious if the combination is possible before i ask. thanksps>>> i dont know how to change the name on the acct, mike is my husband. Thanks Ashleigh

is it ok to take st johns wort along with wellbutrin sr?

I have been going to the same pharmacy for years and I’ve never had a problem – up until last month. I have been taking Wellbutrin SR for the past 5 years. My doctor called in a refill for the Wellbutrin SR. I picked it up at the pharmacy, but when I got home it was the wrong prescription. The pharmacist had given me Wellbutrin XL instead of the SR. I figured that it was just an honest mistake – so I went back to the pharmacy and told them that they had given me the wrong prescription. The pharmacist told me that it’s not the wrong one, but she had just changed it to the XL because you only have to take it once a day and she thought it would be better for me. I told her that there was a reason that I was on the SR and after arguing back and forth for a while she finally agreed to give me the SR. At that point I figured I would just let it go.However, when I went to the pharmacy this month, once again, they had given me the XL instead of the SR. I immediately told the clerk that this was the wrong prescription. I explained what had happened last month and she went to check the computer. She said the reason that they had filled the prescription for the XL was because I didn’t have any refills on the SR. She told me that they could not just transfer refills from the XL to the SR – but the pharmacist was the one who had changed the whole prescription in the first place without any permission from my doctor. So, I had to call my doctors office and get them involved. My doctor was pretty upset – she called the pharmacy, but the pharmacist wasn’t there – so she told the clerk that they were not supposed to change my prescription. It’s not up to them to make the call as to what they think would be better for me. She has never prescribed the XL for me; only the SR!My question is, can I report this pharmacist? Do you know who I can report it to? This can’t be legal – and I don’t want to see it happen to myself of anyone else again. What if I would have taken the XL and had a bad reaction? It just doesn’t seem right to me…Does anyone know of any action that I can take?

Where can I report a pharmacist?

I started taking Wellbutrin SR 3 days ago and started breaking out yesterday. At first I thought it was poison ivy, but I couldn't figure out how that happened. I am becoming more convinced that it is the medication especially since I continue to have new eruptions. What are your thoughts and how can I get some relief?

Has anyone experienced a terrible itchy rash while taking Wellbutrin SR?

I'm currently on wellbutrin SR 300mg and Effexor XR 37.5mg and I know it is the wellbutrin that is doing the most to stop the suicidality. But my shipment of wellbutrin is delayed and I'm realizing just how uncontrolled my symptoms really are and I'm hoping to go to a doctor with a basic understanding of what I should be going for. Is there anything out there specifically aimed at Borderline Personality Disorder? The horrible mood swings, the horrible, uncontrolled anger, the self harm?Is there anything that I can ask for, medication wise, that will help with some of these basic symptoms?I have no insurance and am stuck with being put on what I can get for free through a Manufacturer's Aid Program... So therapy is totally out of the question. I'm lucky I can afford to keep a roof over my head. Please, do you know anything about the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder other than "It is basically untreatable" like I am hearing left and right? Please help! I'm at my wits end!

Are there any medications that work well, in general, for borderline personality disorder? I'm desperate!?

The few weeks ago, my husband says to me (out of nowhere really, we were playing a card game..) 'You know, I realize I've gained weight, but you're fat, like pregnant fat...' I was a bit stunned, and hurt too, I just said 'Okay, well, I didn't know you felt that way, I'll work on it..'He has since continued with those types of comments. Some are much more rude..Here's the facts; I have a 11 mo. old daughter, and I also suffer depression, since I was a teenager. It's been hard for me to find the right medication since I had my child, I finally feel like I am on the best one for me; Wellbutrin SR 300mg. I have much more energy, happier, and just overall feel better. He says, 'You don't look like you did when we met, before we were married..' I have never been a skinny girl, and I met him at 17...I am 25 now. Then, I was 5'5" and 155lbs. Today, I am 5'5" and 178lbs.I realize I need to lose weight, and since I have gotten my depression under control, I've got my stride back, starting to jog daily, and I eat much better. (My wellbutrin seems to curb my appetite a bit)Am I wrong to feel battered by his repeated comments, how do I approach what he says with a helpful reply? I just can't better myself with someone pushing such negativity in my ear.You should know, he has also gained a ton of weight...185 when we met, now 240. I have never said anything to him, because i love him no matter. **He was 300lbs at one time, before we dated...lost 100lbs...now slowly gaining?)

How can I handle his comments??/?

You must have missed the part about depression and pregnancy!??? That weight is partly due to pregnancy that i never got off...some due to depression and lack of exercise. i have never been this heavy (178) and thanks for your input...as polite as it was. jerk.I really appreciate all the helpful answers.Alice, i love that! thank you.. "Are you 185 yet? No? Wanna jog?" I'll be using that :) we're going to be doing this together... i thank you all for your feedback/tips. it has really helped me see the big picture.

Is my husband wrong here? how to handle this...?

Hi all, I've been prescribed the Wellbutrin and Lorazepam. On the bottles (right before the refill section) it says:DS 30 for the WellbutrinDS 6 for the LorazepamNo I am prescribed 60 150mg WB SR x2 Daily so I would think DS means Day Supply. But for the Lorazepam I was prescribed 20 1mg taken nightly or as needed every right hours. This means 6 nightly and 2 a day as needed would only equate to 18. Which has me not so confident about my best guess. Can anyone clarify? Thanks.

What does the DS mean on a prescription bottle?

Sorry this is going to be pretty long but I'm getting desperate... Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to read and offer advice :)One week ago (Saturday) I started feeling short of breath and felt like I needed to yawn throughout the day in order to get more air in. Sunday was the same, but not bad enough to cause concern. Monday I went to work and was there for about half an hour and my breathing got worse. I felt the need to yawn every few minutes and my normal breaths felt short- like I wasn't able to take enough air in. My husband took me to my PCP Monday morning. EKG was fine, heart sounded fine, lungs sounded clear, PCP could hear air moving through normally. I had lap band surgery a year and a half ago and he was worried about a blood clot in my lungs... sent me to the hospital for:CT scan on chest- injected dye for the test- results were negative (nothing in lungs)Blood oxygen levels checked- blood taken from artery in wrist (OUCH)- negative- results were normalBasic blood work from vein in arm- all normalWent back to my PCP Tuesday (took another sick day) PCP did a breathing test where I blew in and out of a little tube- said my results were abnormal but he wasn't sure why... Gave me script for Albuteral (spelling?) inhaler and Advair inhaler. Neither one of these help at all. PCP mentioned it could be anxiety- but I have not been upset/anxious/ worried about ANYTHING lately and it doesn't come in "attacks" but I feel this way all day every day.I used to have sleep apnea before my lap band surgery- PCP said it may be that- but I never had "bad" sleep apnea and I sleep fine- haven't been waking up even once during the night.I used to have acid reflux before my surgery too- suggested that... started taking my Prilosec OTC again- does nothing to help.PCP made another appt. to see me in one week and told me to start on Zyrtec. Zyrtec has not seemed to make a difference- been taking that for 5 days now.Last night (Friday night) went to a movie w/ my husband and toward the end of the movie my breathing got a lot worse. I was struggling to breathe normally and my need to yawn was increased- I felt like I needed to yawn every 40-70 seconds. I couldn't yawn right away though- it took several tries and concentration to get enough air in in order to yawn.Husband rushed me to the ER. I was crying at this point b/c I was scared and very aggravated.Got a chest Xray- clear, lungs look fine. Lungs sound fine. Gave me a breathing treatment and steroids through an IV- felt a tiny bit better laying there with the steroids in me but as soon as they took my IV out my problems came right back.ER doctor gave me a script for Methylprednisolone steroid tablets. Just started them today- not sure how long they take to work but so far no change. If anyone has ANY suggestions or advice as to what this may be or what could be causing it please let me know. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and the allergies are terrible this time of year- I've never really had allergies before but this just seems like way too much to just be allergies- but then again, I'm no doctor.Meds I'm on now: Prozac (been on it for about 10 years) Wellbutrin SR (been on it for about 1 year and a half/ 2 years) Zyrtec (every morning for the past 5 days) Prilosec OTC (every morning for the past 4 days) Advair inhaler (twice a day for the past 4 days) Rescue inhaler as needed (does nothing to help) Methylprednisolone 6 day/ 21 pill pack (just started today)THANK YOU for any help you can give me. If you know what this might be or have experienced this please let me know- I'll take anything I can get at this point- I'm desperate to find out what's wrong with me, it's effecting every aspect of my life now.

Healthcare professionals/ patients only please... breathing problems?

I've been on Wellbutrin for almost 2 months now. I was on Wellbutrin SR 100 mg for about 2 weeks, and had no trouble sleeping with that. But then I switched to Wellbutrin XL 150 mg, which worked much better for me, but now I have insomnia. Four days ago they upped my dosage to 300 mg, and I really need to think about some form of sleep aid. I took melatonin supplements after switching to XL but I've become more and more slowed down and drowsy over time, counteracting the energy-raising effects of Wellbutrin, so I don't want to keep taking it. I don't want to take Ambien. And I don't want to take anything with addictive potential. Any suggestions?Without some form of sleep aid, I really can't sleep. I do a lot of work during the day and am absolutely exhausted at the end of the day and I still won't be able to sleep - so far melatonin has saved me but I need to switch to something else.
