Why Quinoa Recipes Are Being Used As High Protein Diets For Weight-Loss

The big health organisations of the world over the past 25 years have continually warned us that obesity and being overweight are due to ever-eating and lack of exercise. So why, when a recent study has shown that today's average person is consuming 20% fewer calories and exercising 25% more than ever before; are we still getting fatter by the day?

Continued research is finally providing results that suggests that long-term weight loss is not achieved by rigorous exercise routines and low-calorie diets alone, and that obesity and weight gain is a direct consequence of our starchy, high-sugar, low quality fast-foods that we are consuming in our every-day diets.

To try and combat this new phenomena people have been looking for a new type of health food, something that is full of protein, fibre, iron, essential amino acids that stimulates weight loss and something that is tasty, healthy and nutritional. The answer is…Quinoa rice.

It was the Incas around 500 years ago that were the first people to recognise quinoa's nutritional value, considering it to be a sacred food source; they actually worshipped the grain in their culture; and was secondary only to the humble potato. Its protein count is between 12-18%, and it has 9 of the most essential amino acids, which are so important for the human body; making quinoa a complete protein source and a great weight-loss food.
