A question about Anorexia and multivitamins?I haven't been to see a psych Doc yet. Waiting to get a referral from my primary care doc. The psychologist that tested me said I could possibly have cyclothymia which is a mild version of Bipolar sometimes called Bipolar III. I don't have any depression symptoms though. Anyone taking Wellbutrin XL for combine type ADD/ADHD? If so please respond and let me now how it made u feel?I have severe, medication resistant depression. I have tried tricyclics, ssri's, maoi's, atypicals and even ECT. My doctor prescribed Concerta yesterday. I am supposed to take 27mg in combination with 200mg of zoloft and 150 of wellbutrin xl. I do not have add or adhd, and he is prescribing it to help the depression. Has anyone ever heard of using concerta, ritalin, or other CNS drugs for depression? Anyone have experience taking this drug for depression without add/adhd? DId it help?
Concerta for Depression?I know Topamax is generally prescribed for seizures and migraines but it is also an "off label" mood stabilizer, which is what I'm taking it for. I was put on Wellbutrin XL a few years ago and it made me pretty irritable so this year they put me on 200mg of Topamax a day. They are sort of iffy about diagnosing me with bipolar disorder, but thats what they are leaning towards. I already have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, ADHD and insomnia. I've been dealing with drug addiction the past few years though so they've kept me off all the typical anxiety meds, so I've been a nervous wreck. Thought I'd give you a little bit of background history before I asked the big question. Anyone else take Topamax as a mood stabilizer? I've been on it for about a month now and feel no different. Just a lot of painful tingling in my feet, my taste for soda is completely fucked up and my memory is also fucked. So I'd like some feed back please, if anyone has any. I don't sleep despite the sleeping pills, I don't eat, and I rarely speak. I've lost 17lbs this month.(I am 5'8, 18 years old and weigh 135lbs at the moment). I scare myself half the time. I feel pretty empty and dull.
topamax for bipolar disorder?I have been trying to find help with ADHD for a while. I have been tested twice and the first time i got tested i was positive for depression and was treated with prozac which made me suicidal do i got off it and then was not depressed anymore but still had trouble focusing and behavior problems and relationship problems and such. So my doc told me i didnt have depression anymore and asked me to get tested again. So i got tested again and messed up part of the test because it was asking me about the past week and i answered it as if it was talking about my lifetime. It was once again found that i had depression but i told them i felt happy and didnt feel depressed anymore at all. The doc who tested me told me and my psyc that there had to be a reason i answered them they way i did. I told them i simply didnt pay attention and answered it as though it was talking about my lifetime. I am now on wellbutrin for ADHD but everywhere i read that it it treats depression. I have been on it fori have been on it for 2 days now and it is making me feel very jittery and shaky and not helping with focus or concentration at all. I have read articles online about how people have depression due to ADHD and i m certain my depression is because of it but WEllbutrin doesnt seem to be helping and the place wont test me again. What can i do?? I know i m not depressed but just have many symptoms of ADHD. Please helpI have been on it for 4 days now and i m starting to feel very tired after taking it. My doctor told me it is supposed to be energizing but i dont feel it. Have many headaches, stomach aches and am usually more angry when on it. Is it worth it???????? Wellbutrin XL for ADHD???Hi, I take Wellbutrin xl 150 mgs. daily and Lamictal 50 mgs. In a recent blood workup my doctor found a problem with my liver enzymes and I have been asked to stop my medicaton as my problem was not that severe and my liver comes first.I have mild ADHD with anxiety and depression.There are not really any other meds for me as they all damage the liver.Have you ever had to just discontinue and how did you cope?Thank you so so much for any advice:))Thank you all so far! I'm gonna have to give up my Wellbutrin :(?So Since I am taking my son to get diagnosed as ADHD I have noticed in my research, that I meet almost all the criteria for having adult ADD, including the fact that I know I was ADHD as a child, my parents just chose not to get a proper diagnosis. I see a therapist who diagnosed me with severe depression, and she said that I am not ADD, I am the opposite. My dirty little secret is that alot of times I have to take stimulant meds like pseudophed to get anything done, otherwise I feel like I cant concentrate. I have never told a doctor about any of this because I feel like no one will take me seriously, and they will just think that I am a hypo-chondriac. I am currently on Wellbutrin xl, and I firmly believe that the only reason this med is working so well is because its treating both conditions, so it was kind of a fluke, but a good one. So, should I let my therapist and dr. know whats really going on, or should I just drop it since I am on a good medication anyway?Seriously. read the entire question before answering. ADD? On top of depression, but will any doc take me seriously?I am 27 and I am taking Wellbutrin XL for depression and ADHD. I don't really think that Wellbutrin is the medication for me so the doctor thought that I should switch. Before putting me on a stimulant they said that I had to have my regular doctor do a EKG. When I picked up the results from my regular doctor's nurse she said that everything was fine and normal for a person my age. Long story short, I am almost 100 pounds over weight and heart problems run in my family. I don't feel anything wrong with my heart, but today when I followed up with the therapist she said that my results clearly said on the top of the graph that it was abnormal. I am confused. Any ideas/advice? My therapist said she would not switch my medication until I got further information from my regular doctor.
Abnormal EKG???omg, im gunna be a senior next year but i have a 1.8 GPA. My grades are falling because it's very hard for me to focus in school. every time a homework assignment is due i end up wasting 15 minutes looking for it. My goal is to make my GPA to a 3.0 this 4th quarter but i cant do it with 1 B an 2 A's, 1 D and a C. in my classes. I take Adderal XR 10mg, i asked my doctor to maximize my dose just like he did with my Wellbutrin XL 300MG. Because i feel that adderal isnt working at all. I tend to be very impulsive and say stupid things. and people laugh at me. I cant make any friends, i always sit alone. i tried to keep silent , its too difficult. i just cant stop talking. I cant focus in class. College's will never accept me. I feel i'll never get a scholarship, just because of my GPA. Please helpI'm a freak aren't I?
