I was recently Diagnosed with ADD and depression, What meds should i take, Adderall, Wellbutrin?I am currently taking Effexor XR and have been on it for about 1 year now but off and on for over 7 years becuase I had 2 children over these years. I am up to 150mg a day at bed time (which is not that bad but it has been up to 350mg a day at one point years ago) I still suffer from depression (feel down, cry, feel hopeless and even think about suicide at least once a week) panic attacks and also have bad social anxiety that makes it hard to return to work or even go out into public etc. When I discuss with my Dr (family Dr not a therapist as my Dr will not give me a referral and pretty much just tells me I am depressed, take the meds and deal with it) that my depression is back full force she just ups the dose again and I am concerned becuase I feel that this med is just not working as well as it should and I do not want to be put on that high dose again when I know at some point I will just feel like I do now. I have read so many bad things about effexor XR and I have even started to develope twitching which I don't know is okay or not (thinking it is not from what I have read) I have considered asking the dr to switch me to Wellbutrin XL but am not sure if this will work better for the problems I have or if I should stick with the effexor and just ask if she can add a different anti depressant with my effexor. For all of you that has changed from Effexor to Wellbutrin, did you feel that Wellbutrin is a much better choice? Do you feel that I should switch or should I stick with the Effexor and add another anti depressant? I am not trying to self diagnose or treat but I feel that the dr just is not much help and if I go in there nowing what I feel and want maybe she will listen.Thanks for any info, help, advice or suggestions given
Whats better Effexor XR or Wellbutrin XL? ?You are supposed to take the Wellbutrin doses at least 6 hours apart, so I can't take them at once because I think they are what make me sleepy. Also the Adderall does not seem to be as effective as the first couple of weeks I started it. ADD and dystymia are a bad combo. Can anyone share their experiences?

My psychiatrist thinks I'm dumb for asking these questions. Can you answer any?I'm wondering how any of you have combated the fatigue factor with depression? I know it's a process that you have to just battle through sometimes, but it's tough to "fake" like you have energy though. Certainly, I know positive thoughts are good and what not, but to me thoughts can only get you so far. If your body's physically tired (like mine certainly is daily), then your physically tired.I'm seeing my psychiatrist again on Friday and together we're still trying to figure out a recipe to solve the tiredness. Recently, we've added wellbutrin XL to the 300 mg of Effexor XR I take in the morning (the dosages are so high mainly just to see if ANY dosage works to fix the tired feelings).Has anyone beaten the tiredness with depression? I'm talking genuinely beat it. Hell, if anyone has alleviated their tiredness to where they can find the energy to energetically talk with friends and answer phone calls I'd be happy to hear it. -Travis

However, some depression is returning, and the 300 mg (next size up) of Wellbutrin is too much and made me jumpy and angry so I went back down.My doctor has now suggested adding 50 mgs. of Effexor XR instead. But when I read some of the things people have said about, it looks like scary stuff with people acting strange and withdrawal problems. Can you tell me your experiences with it?I've been throught 2 doctors and a few bad medicines in the last bit, so I'm always afraid of something new. Experiences with Effexor XR?I take 20mg of Lexapro and 25mg of AdderallXR first thing in the morning. I take another 25mg of AdderallXR about 5 hours after the first dose. I'm feeling some extra drag this evening and I still have a long night ahead of me. Will it be alright if I took a 150mg Wellbutrin XR on top of all that to give me that extra boost? I want to be able to go to bed later tonight so thats why I didn't think about taking another AdderallXR, plus I only have so many that I figured I'd use some of my extra WellburtinXR.Basically, I don't want to fry my brain or die.. lol Thanks for your help.Also, I am prescribed those for ADD, OCD, and Panic Disorder. I have different extra meds from sampling to see what worked. 150mg of WellbutrinXR just wasn't strong enough and didn't last long enough.
Will taking this combo of meds be safe?I was put on 20mg. of Focalin XR this week for ADD. I take it at 8am along with Wellbutrin 150mg and Prozac 40mg. It seems to help some but NOT all day . . . maybe until about 4pm. Does drinking coffee have any negative effect??
